Please consider supporting my work here at Behind the Black. I keep the website clean from pop-ups and annoying demands. Instead, I depend entirely on my readers to support me. Though this means I am sacrificing some income, it also means that I remain entirely independent from outside pressure. By depending solely on donations and subscriptions from my readers, no one can threaten me with censorship. You don't like what I write, you can simply go elsewhere.

You can support me either by giving a one-time contribution or a regular subscription. There are five ways of doing so:

1. Zelle: This is the only internet method that charges no fees. All you have to do is use the Zelle link at your internet bank and give my name and email address (zimmerman at nasw dot org). What you donate is what I get.

2. Patreon: Go to my website there and pick one of five monthly subscription amounts, or by making a one-time donation.

52 Nobel Peace Prize winners have called for the boycott of Israel for its recent attacks in Gaza.

Intellectual bankruptcy: 52 Nobel Peace Prize winners, artists, and activists have called for the boycott of Israel for its recent attacks in Gaza.

And where were these so-called intellectuals when Hamas was lobbing rockets into Israel? For them, I guess it is all right to kill Jews. And God forbid the Jews decide to defend themselves.

Genesis cover

On Christmas Eve 1968 three Americans became the first humans to visit another world. What they did to celebrate was unexpected and profound, and will be remembered throughout all human history. Genesis: the Story of Apollo 8, Robert Zimmerman's classic history of humanity's first journey to another world, tells that story, and it is now available as both an ebook and an audiobook, both with a foreword by Valerie Anders and a new introduction by Robert Zimmerman.

The ebook is available everywhere for $5.99 (before discount) at amazon, or direct from my ebook publisher, ebookit. If you buy it from ebookit you don't support the big tech companies and the author gets a bigger cut much sooner.

The audiobook is also available at all these vendors, and is also free with a 30-day trial membership to Audible.

"Not simply about one mission, [Genesis] is also the history of America's quest for the moon... Zimmerman has done a masterful job of tying disparate events together into a solid account of one of America's greatest human triumphs."--San Antonio Express-News

Obvious bias against Israel and the real peace process. This is just another propaganda attack by these Nobel ‘Peace’ Prize winners, that does nothing to move the situation toward peace because they intentionally ignore the violence that the Palestinians have rained down on Israelis. Their true motive is to overthrow any Israeli peace position and hand land and concessions to thugs and the violators of the peace.

  • Your website is excellent and I look at it every day and find your knowledge and insight into space travel and the cosmos excellent reading, I do however, believe you should keep your Zionist beliefs for another venue, not on this website. Your religion is your religion. Cosmology is the basis of your website-keep it pure.

  • I’ve always assumed this site is about Bob’s interests. Cosmology, or perhaps more accurately space science , is a major part, but a discerning reader will note other topics such as politics, music, and so forth.

  • First of all, religion has nothing to do with this story. Arabs have been trying to kill Israelis (who usually happen to be Jews), for the past five decades. They admit it. They relish in it. You have to be willfully blind not to see it, which was the main point of my post. These intellectual elites only get their dander up when Israel tries to defend itself. When Israelis get killed, however, they hardly twitch.

Moreover, there is no more equivalency here. Israel had occupied Gaza, but walked away from it entirely, giving it back to the Palestinians for them to run. Their answer: to elect a terrorist group as their leaders and focus on making bombs and rockets so they can kill Jews. Once again, you have to be willfully blind not to see who is the violent aggressor here.

Second, your method of debate is most interesting. Rather than debate the facts, you make two arguments. First you call me a Zionist with Zionist views. Though being a Zionist is not necessarily evil, you use it as an curse word, without having the slightest idea what the word really means. Its actual definition (someone who wants to reestablish the Biblical Jewish state of Israel) does not apply to me, or to my post. I am not advocating this. I am merely defending the right of all humans to enjoy life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, without the threat of violence. I am also condemning the bankruptcy of the modern intellectual class, which can’t see a genocidal Islamic terrorist even if that terrorist is holding a knife to their face.

Second, rather than debate the facts, you propose I simply shut up, telling me I shouldn’t write about this stuff on my website. To this I say, too bad. I write what I believe, as a free man. You don’t like what I say, you are free to debate me here, civilly and rationally. My readers know that I welcome criticism.

What I don’t welcome is oppression. And that is your approach to debate.

Even though I don’t really care if the biblical nation of Israel is ever restored, for some reason I feel proud when called a Zionist.

It must have something to do with who is calling me one.

YOU GO! Mr Z, Israel has a RIGHT to exist!

When you think about it, it’s always been Israel -vs- The THUGS of History… Every major civilization that has gone against Israel has lost and fallen by the way-side… The recent islamist thugs will be no diffrent… The problem is that we are living this ‘history’, and HISTORY is not instant, it tends to take a while… In the end, Israel will remain… Just ask Goliath about he faired…
