I thought the images of the Mona Lisa and the Alamo were the most revealing.

  • The Mona Lisa made me laugh. Apparently, you don’t really get see the art so much as the people trying to see it.

  • While I had seen that shot of The Pyramids of Giza its still amazing to think how close the Cario has come to it. The other interesting one was The Kaaba I’ve see that picture with the black box for ages but never seen the context of in the larger city.

    I stayed in one of the hotels just to the left of The Alamo in that pic — yeah I was stuned. In the pics it looks like its in the middle of nowhere. Most of the complex is gone and a couple streets go through it. That building is sandwiched between hotels, a drug store, office building…. to get those cool “this is The Alamo” sahots you have to aim the camera just right to not see a huge commercial sign a couple stories above and behind it.
