If the Dems were smart they would have realized that 25% of all hospitals in the US are owned and operated by Catholic not for profits. Another 10% are run by Cristian not for profits and a few run by other religious not for profits.
And they thought they had the power to force almost 40% of the hospitals of the US to their will against their own religious beliefs.
