Owning it: In 2010 the Democrats unanimously voted in support of the regulations that are now forcing the cancellation of millions of health insurance plans.

The Democrats voted for Obamacare. They then voted for the regulations that are wiping out health plans nationwide. And they voted to shut the government down to support Obamacare only one month ago.

I would say this indicates pretty strongly that they are responsible for this law.

Interesting how the spin was the republicans were going to be trashed by their fighting among themselves, and the public’s disgust over closing the gov. Instead few cared about the gov closing, but were incensed by the capricious ways cronies were excluded from impacts, but they went out of the way to “maximize the pain” for the public, veterans, etc. And then Obamacare, the the shutdown was all about stopping at any cost, now looks like a nightmare to the public. But since the republicans went to such irrational and self destructive ends to stop it, the public in retrospect could well see then as trying valiantly to save them from this debacle, and the dems at steamrolling it through at any cost, regardless of their (presumably) being able to see what it would do.

This also really undercuts the whole Dem philosophy that (to paraphrase Obama) these things must be put back in the hands of the “wisemen of Washington”, who’ll make sure everythings done right. After all, they would insist, you can’t trust something this to private hands.
