John Kerry doesn’t understand the words “Death to America!”

Peace in our time! In one of his first speeches following the announcement of a deal with Iran,  Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei said, to chants of “Death to American” and “Death to Israel”, that the policies of Iran and the U.S. were “180 degrees” opposed.

When asked his thoughts on this speech and its hostility, Secretary of State John Kerry (former Demcratic Presidential candidate) was baffled.

“I don’t know how to interpret it at this point in time, except to take it at face value, that that’s his policy,” he said in the interview with Saudi-owned Al Arabiya television, parts of which the network quoted on Tuesday. “But I do know that often comments are made publicly and things can evolve that are different. If it is the policy, it’s very disturbing, it’s very troubling,” he added.

Reminds me of the reaction of many appeasers to both Hitler and Stalin. No matter how plainly these tyrants expressed the desire to conquer the world and destroy their enemies, these appeasers, most of whom were on the left, would continually come up with excuses for their plain words. I however take Khamenei at his word. When he gets the bomb, he plans on using it.

Genesis cover

On Christmas Eve 1968 three Americans became the first humans to visit another world. What they did to celebrate was unexpected and profound, and will be remembered throughout all human history. Genesis: the Story of Apollo 8, Robert Zimmerman's classic history of humanity's first journey to another world, tells that story, and it is now available as both an ebook and an audiobook, both with a foreword by Valerie Anders and a new introduction by Robert Zimmerman.

The ebook is available everywhere for $5.99 (before discount) at amazon, or direct from my ebook publisher, ebookit. If you buy it from ebookit you don't support the big tech companies and the author gets a bigger cut much sooner.

The audiobook is also available at all these vendors, and is also free with a 30-day trial membership to Audible.

"Not simply about one mission, [Genesis] is also the history of America's quest for the moon... Zimmerman has done a masterful job of tying disparate events together into a solid account of one of America's greatest human triumphs."--San Antonio Express-News

Let’s strip that down a bit, shall we?

« … Hitler and Stalin. … these appeasers, most of whom were on the left… »

Well, 50% of whom were on the left, anyway. You’re half right Bob.

  • Stu,

If you are implying that Hitler was on the right, you are dead wrong. Remember, NAZI stood for National Socialist German Workers’ Party. The Nazis were quite leftwing, believing that the government should have the right to control society, though they had no trouble with allowing private property (though they were also quite willing to confiscate it in a second if it served their purposes).

The conservatives in England in the 1930s, like the Republican leadership today, were willing to appease, but they were also the source (Churchill) of the first opposition to that appeasement. Overall, the left was much more willing to excuse both Hitler and Stalin, and took the longest to recognize their evil. And this was because both Stalin and Hitler had some leftist ambitions that appealed to the left. To gain those ambitions too many on the left were willing to look the other way.

Hitler was definitely a leftist. The entire German economy was directed by the Nazis. They also had very progressive ideas on race. Why the Nazis have been assigned to the left spectrum of political thought has to do with a lack of proper education in our system and a lack of critical thinking.

I too believe that Khamenei will use a nuclear weapon on Israel.

I’m just wondering if he will wait to get more than one at a time.
Or will he blow his wad so to say with the first one possible thus turning most of the rest of the world violently against him and his nation.
One weapon will will not destroy Israel and quite possibly might not make it very far into the nation either by air, land, or sea.

Will he use the very first one on Israel or test a few and then wait for three or four to be available.

All they have is time, no rush, he can develop as many as he pleases and continue to threaten. It would be foolish to just develop one and go. And keep in mind that all of the war talk within Iranian serves a political purpose and keeps the people focused, fired up and busy. You do not want to waste that.

If they were to actually launch on Israel the Israeli response would have to be devastating, what might it be like in Iran (and the surrounding countries or the world as a whole for that matter?) after a counter strike with 10? 20? 30? 50? 100? 20 megaton warheads raining down on all of the major cities of Iran? Hard to imagine that level of destruction, and I have no doubt the Israeli’s would do it and they would be justified.

What would the long term potential for Iran be at that point? ZERO, the Imams are not that foolish, I don’t think, but you never know.

The NAZIs funded the rejuvenation of Germany with the funds of the Jews. Right now, the left is only trying to destroy the businesses of Christians. However, antisemitism runs strong in California (and is growing in Canada).

    I would respectfully disagree.

I think they might well use it when they get one, and if they do, they would be smart to launch or detonate high in the atmosphere as an EMP. The damage that would cause to Israel’s systems would be catastrophic and likely prevent any sort of coordinated reply, the chaos that would follow would be indescribable, and it would be open season for Hamas, Hezbollah, et. al., to invade also.

If they did this with 1 bomb, and had a couple more to follow, Israel would not have an opportunity to reply. That is my fear.

  • tps

Are the Imams foolish. It depends on how you define “foolish.”

Like Hitler, Stalin, etc. the leaders of this 7th Century Death Cult are not foolish, nor are they irrational. Their actions are very deliberate and for a purpose. The Imams have said many times they love death more than we love life, and are looking to trigger the return of the 12th Imam, who disappeared in some well in the distant path, according to legend, and will only return when the world is running with blood and fire.

The Russians had no interest in nuking us or anyone because they loved life and their kids as much as us. This is not true today with the radical Islamic leaders.

The will indeed use these weapons, but I seriously doubt the Israelies and Gulf states will let them get that far. They now have no option other than attack, damage the facilities and program as much as possible, and press for rebellion to overthrow these monsters.

Where all this leads, my crystal ball doesn’t say.

I think Israel is just a side show for them. The first bomb goes to incapacitate the gulf oil fields, the second bomb goes to an American carrier group, and if there is time, the third to Israel. This is not my analysis alone, someone wrote a novel with this scenario, but I don’t remember who the author is.

    Hold everything!

This should give comfort to everyone and reveal a new confidence in Obama and Kerry.

    A little perspective:

While we sit at our computer key boards and communicate over the internet with just about all the information available at our finger tips, and discuss the potential total destruction of a segment of modern civilization through the highest level of technology, this is also going on.

I’m pretty sure their submarine fleet would reply. That being enough of a deterrence in the first place against this adversary, is unfortunately not a safe bet.

  • pzatchok

Military structures and systems are hardened against EMP.

And EMP is not all its cracked up to be.
It will only be a real problem to power lines and items tied into that system that do not have any protections like surge protectors.

  • David M. Cook

Kerry’s actions are extremely suspect, due to his previous behavior as a traitor to his nation (lying about US military actions during the Vietnam war) and his dishonesty (he threw someone else’s medals over the White House fence!).

I can only assume he’s against America and for the head-chopping mullahs.

He also is a tax cheater, which was exposed when he bought an expensive sailboat and registered it in another state to avoid the Massachusetts taxes. What a piece of excrement John Kerry is!

  • Edward

If the object is to bring back the 12th Imam in a world that is running with blood and fire, then there is *no* deterrence. Indeed, the supposed deterrence is in reality an incentive, because it increases the blood and fire.
