More voter fraud documented in North Carolina, including a professor who applauds it.

More voter fraud, this time in North Carolina, including a professor who applauds it.

Watch the video. The part where the professor applauds voter fraud because it would hurt conservatives is most revealing.

Genesis cover

On Christmas Eve 1968 three Americans became the first humans to visit another world. What they did to celebrate was unexpected and profound, and will be remembered throughout all human history. Genesis: the Story of Apollo 8, Robert Zimmerman's classic history of humanity's first journey to another world, tells that story, and it is now available as both an ebook and an audiobook, both with a foreword by Valerie Anders and a new introduction by Robert Zimmerman.

The ebook is available everywhere for $5.99 (before discount) at amazon, or direct from my ebook publisher, ebookit. If you buy it from ebookit you don't support the big tech companies and the author gets a bigger cut much sooner.

The audiobook is also available at all these vendors, and is also free with a 30-day trial membership to Audible.

"Not simply about one mission, [Genesis] is also the history of America's quest for the moon... Zimmerman has done a masterful job of tying disparate events together into a solid account of one of America's greatest human triumphs."--San Antonio Express-News

James O’Keefe…journalist extraordinaire. This is a guy convicted of trying to tap a US Senator’s phone, tried to seduce and humiliate a female reporter on a boat, and may even be facing voter fraud prosecution himself. And his one big “get” (Acorn) resulted in the organization being cleared of any wrongdoing.
    So now this.
You do know that the one case of purported voter fraud unearthed in this new charade (Zbigniew Gorzkowski) turns out to be a naturalized citizen and legally able to vote? Even though the article leads you to believe that he voted illegally in two elections.
But thats not to say there is not any voter fraud. Here is one actual conviction, rather than incorrect supposition like O’Keefe engages in:

  • Jim,

I know you like to make excuses for the bad behavior of politicians, especially when they are Democrats, but the voter fraud that O’Keefe is exposing here cuts both ways, and will do us all harm if it isn’t dealt with.

More importantly, your claim above that O’Keefe was “convicted of trying to tap a US Senator’s phone” is false, and could get you sued. O’Keefe plead guilty to a misdemeanor for entering the office of Senator Mary Landrieu under false pretenses. When several news outlets made the same false claim as you do above, O’Keefe sued them, and they were forced to retract or correct their stories.

Furthermore, Acorn was not cleared of any wrong doing. If you watch O’Keefe’s unedited and uncut tapes, their employees were very much involved in several very serious felonies. Though no one was ever prosecuted, Acorn did fire those same employees. Why do you think they did this?

What I can’t figure is why you want to make excuses for what O’Keefe is finding. If you watch his videos, he is documenting very clear evidence of a leaky badly run election system that can be easily corrupted — by either party. This should concern us all. Moreover, his videotape evidence of a college professor applauding the idea of election fraud should appall you as much as it appalls me — unless you like the idea of voter fraud in cases where it helps defeat Republicans. I wonder about this.

Finally, in none of his videos has any voter fraud taken place. No one has ever actually voted illegally. Every single time they leave before voting (as documented on the tapes). All they do is demonstrate that if they wanted to vote illegally, the election judges at the polling places would have let them. The only reason O’Keefe faces possible charges is because the elected officials in Vermont don’t like what O’Keefe has uncovered, and want to shut him up.

    Robert-
    Thanks.
    James O’Keefe:
    1. You are right…he plead guilty of entering a US Senator’s office under false pretenses. Not exactly a resume bullet, is it? If that is supposed to be a feather in his cap, its not to me.
    2. Acorn was in fact cleared of wrongdoing.
    Connecticut: http://www.ctpost.com/local/article/Two-years-later-ACORN-cleared-of-voter-fraud-993123.php
    Brooklyn. http://www.politico.com/blogs/bensmith/0310/ACORN_cleared_in_Brooklyn_No_criminality.html
    San Diego: http://www.utsandiego.com/news/2010/apr/01/jerry-brown-says-acorn-didnt-break-law/
But go ahead, show me where it was not cleared in court and I will admit I am wrong. If firing of employees means wrongdoing by an organization/company, almost 100% are guilty of wrongdoing.
    3. If he had found evidence of election fraud, than I am sure we will see convictions. Right now it looks like the only one who possibly could get convicted is him. New Hampshire is investigating because his people purposely misidentified themselves, and videotaped without both parties consent. He himself said this month that the New Hampshire AG is trying to subpoena him.
    4. The fact remains that he just mis-characterized a naturalized citizen who at some point in his life felt that becoming a US citizen would be a good thing…thanks to Mr. O’Keefe maybe he is reconsidering at this point.
In all the machinations of this man, nothing has been proved, except his lack of ethics. But if he is who you want to rely on these days to prove a point, go ahead.

  • It’s very obvious you have never watched the O’Keefe tapes, where ACORN employees in many different cities were very agreeable about aiding and abetting underage prostitution, while also helping the pimp perpetuate tax fraud. Granted, no one prosecuted them, but watch the tapes and tell me again that ACORN is an organization that deserves government funds.

And drop the crap that “everyone does it.” Everyone does not. You are once again using the same excuses the Republicans pushed to try to save Nixon’s ass, followed by the Democrats with Clinton and now Obama. Bad behavior is bad behavior, and to excuse it by making believe we are all as corrupt as these folks is the weakest argument you can make.

Meanwhile, you continue to ignore the gist of the evidence on O’Keefe’s videotapes. That these tapes demonstrate clearly that it is possible to walk into a polling place in New Hampshire, Vermont, DC, North Carolina and elsewhere and vote under false pretenses is truly alarming.

But you, you’re like Leslie Nielson in the Police Academy films, “There’s nothing to see here, move on!” O’Keefe must be a bad guy, so that makes it possible to ignore the alarming facts.

If O’Keefe was a leftist, he would be called a heroic whistleblower. He would get a pulitzer if he worked at 60 Minutes, who used to be well know for this type of undercover reporting. Because he is exposing corruption among leftist activist groups, Democrats are using the tools of the state to harass and intimidate the man. Many would happily see him jailed while demanding bradass be set free.

To Jim & all those who oppose Voter ID, the very fact that Dems & those on the Left almost universally oppose ensuring that those who vote are legally qualified to so so, while most Repubs/Conservatives are in FAVOR of it says everything you need to know. Dems WANT voter fraud because it helps them win elections. I live in the Chicago area, where all these techniques (using dead voters, those who’ve moved outside the district and yes, illegal aliens to vote) were perfected decades ago by the Democrat Machine. There’s no question that the VAST MAJORITY of vote fraud is committed by the Left. I want our elections to be fair & honest – if Voter ID laws happen to catch GOPers committing fraud, I’m all for it. But the fact that Conservatives almost universally support (and Dems OPPOSE) having and ENFORCING Voter ID laws tells you who’s benefitting from NOT having them. CASE CLOSED…

  • Jim

    Case reopened.
It just gets better, doesn’t it? Now it seems that the second individual named in the video as voting illegally (William Romero) is also a naturalized citizen.
Worse, the example used as a deceased person (Bolton) being able to vote, was actually deceased. But it turns out that Bolton Jr. lives (and is alive!) at the same address, and the poll worker asked the impersonator “You mean Bolton Jr?” and the impersonator said “Yes.” Of course that seems to have been edited out of the distributed clip. How convenient!

I’m sure all this is meaningless since O’Keefe is trying to make a point you agree with, so I will leave you with a quote from Bolton’s wife, who unfortunately was recently widowed:
“I don’t like the way they just felt that they could use my husband’s name and put it out there,” the widow told TPM. “It just wasn’t right. My husband just died, and then they do that?”

I am sure each of us would feel the same. And she supports voter ID laws…guess she just thinks there must be better ways to go about it. I heartily agree.
And my only original point is that times must be tough if you depend on James O’Keefe to make a point for you. I said voter fraud exists and provided a link proving it.

But you did get me on one thing…I love Leslie Nielsen! Particularly “Police Squad,” one of the best TV comedies ever!

  • wodun

How about WA state in 2004 where the democrat won on the third recount by finding a couple boxes of ballots in the trunk of a car?

Aside from that, there were a couple thousand illegal votes for both parties that exceeded the margin of victory.

This crap goes on all over the country. We need to have some integrity in our voting process but I guess the left would rather focus on preventing people, businesses, and other organizations from exercising their right to free speech.

  • Chris Kirkendall

Jim, the bottom line is (and you KNOW this) that the purpose of these videos is to show that it’s EXTREMELY EASY to game the system & generate fraudulent votes. O’Keefe quite clearly had no intention of voting illegally himself – if he did, why film himself breaking the law & then show it to the world?? You can bloviate all you want about minor details that don’t affect the truth of this & try to distract from the message, but we all know WHY you’re doing this – you OPPOSE Voter ID & support the continued use of technicalities or non-enforcement to allow fraudulent voting to continue. Thank you for showing your true colors – at least you’re honest in your bias & we appreciate that ! ! Oh – say “Hi’ to all your friends in the DU…

  • Jim

Chris, unfortunately O’Keefe proved no such thing. When asked if he was Bolton Jr., the impersonator said yes. And Bolton Jr. is legally able to vote. And the two “Illegals” were legal. But this kind of charade is just par for the course for O’Keefe. And too bad for Mrs. Barton it was not such a “minor detail.”
But OK, consider this. Remember how FOX paraded out O’Keefe after the ACORN film? Hannity interviewed him, O’Reilly too. They could not get enough of him. You ever see him on FOX anymore? No, because they recognize that his admission to planning the Landrieu affair makes him less than trustworthy, and his work should be viewed with that in mind. In fact, I can’t find any mention of O’Keefe’s excellent adventures in North Carolina on the FOX website at all. I wonder why they are not heralding the latest O’Keefe find?
Best to follow their lead, methinks.

  • Chris Kirkendall

Sorry, Jim – with all due respect, your argument doesn’t hold up. O’Keefe DIDN’T prove how easy it is to game the system & generate ILLEGAL votes? Only an idiot would say that – now I’m not calling you names, but this discussion is over – it’s obvious to all that you’re a Leftist & you WANT illegal viotng to continue because it helps your side. Nothing anyone says here will have any effect on your views & I recommend everyone cease. If Jim says anything else, just ignore it – he’s what’s known as a “Troll” – someone who lurks on sites like this, jumping in with counter-arguments that are really just a distraction form the real issue, & delighting in creating distractions, argument & division, and nothing is ever resolved. Let’s put this one to rest. You can have the last word if you want, Jim – no one can stop you, but I’m not bothering anymore & I hope no one else does either…
