More of the media / political campaigns shaping the imagery in the minds of the public to counter act their oppositions strategies.
While this picture on its own is a rediculous image of the president in most any context, apparently this shot is from 2009, not yesterday.
It would be more relevant if indeed it was from the other day “Pirate day” and the president had chosen to meet with the pirate instead of Mr.
Netanyahoo. The president or his handelers are playing the game to the lowest common denominator.
These techniques are about connecting unconsciously to emotions and are not about substance, a Hollywood facade.
These are not news items, we are all being worked and shaped to a particular end.
The counter argument:
The presidents opposition is attempting to make the president look like an unserious and unsubstantive politician.

Is the president “cool”?
Which is more powerful, people pay more attention to real substance or pure emotionalism and imagery ?
Apropo given the blantant theft of our tax dollars to give to his fund-raising bundlers and union thugs.
