Professor calls for the defunding and shutting of America’s universities

Link here. Key quote:

When the term “Western civilization” is equated with racism, cultural superiority and pervasive oppression, and students in my political philosophy class refuse to study the works of John Stuart Mill or John Locke (or any other white thinker) because they consider them white supremacists, there is no lower level of educational hell. The manifest destiny of the humanities and social science professoriat is to have politicized knowledge supersede truth, objectivity, facts and genuine learning.

There are many social ills taking place in the academy, but the cultural relativists who rule its turf would abolish reason, rational argument, appeal to traditional canonical texts as evidence for objective truths about our world, and belief in an objective reality. Too often, they deride reason as a Eurocentric creation used to rationalize the existence of colonialism, slavery and genocide of native peoples.

Ordinarily, the best way to counter an intellectual adversary is through a contest of rational faculties. The person with reality on his or her side, with the best relevant facts and strongest arguments, usually wins. But today’s scholars in humanities and social sciences increasingly declare that modern argumentation is a white, Western form of domination and linguistic imperialism that silences racial and ethnic minorities and devalues their “lived experiences.”

One cannot argue with such people. The only alternative is to shut them down.

From his description of this new generation of students and the leftist teachers who now run American universities and are indoctrinating them I can only conclude that they are bigots filled with a hatred of all white people, and would prefer genocide to reasoned debate. Based on this, he is right. The funding to these teachers should cease, now.

Genesis cover

On Christmas Eve 1968 three Americans became the first humans to visit another world. What they did to celebrate was unexpected and profound, and will be remembered throughout all human history. Genesis: the Story of Apollo 8, Robert Zimmerman's classic history of humanity's first journey to another world, tells that story, and it is now available as both an ebook and an audiobook, both with a foreword by Valerie Anders and a new introduction by Robert Zimmerman.

The ebook is available everywhere for $5.99 (before discount) at amazon, or direct from my ebook publisher, ebookit. If you buy it from ebookit you don't support the big tech companies and the author gets a bigger cut much sooner.

The audiobook is also available at all these vendors, and is also free with a 30-day trial membership to Audible.

"Not simply about one mission, [Genesis] is also the history of America's quest for the moon... Zimmerman has done a masterful job of tying disparate events together into a solid account of one of America's greatest human triumphs."--San Antonio Express-News

They are not really relativists. They have their own ideology/culture and view it as superior to others. The relativist part comes in because of deception and treating all cultures/ideologies as the same, with the exception of western culture, is just a way to use non-western cultures as a shield to protect marxism.

It is a bit like how free speech was used for much of the last hundred years. They hide behind the ideal but when in power, free speech isn’t really an ideal they believe in. The same goes for the relative value of other cultures.

In this atmosphere this would certainly result in the professors firing but, since when do the students tell the professor what they prefer to study as opposed to what is required to be studied? Who is the student and who is the teacher?

I interviewed for a simple one term gig as an adjucnt for Franklin Pierce College a few years ago. A simple class on the 20th century. I was invited to an interview with the Humanities Chair. For a simple 8 week class on 20th century. After looking at my resume, She said, and I quote,

“We don’t believe in “Renaissance Man” around here.”

I had never heard the term “Renaissance Man” used as an accusation before.

  • Cotour

No “Renaissance” men, no modern world.

What he is talking about and describing in this story is Postmodernism. I’m kinda surprised he never used the word. It’s simply a new and very insidious way of instituting Marxism and Socialism in our society and the liberal arts and humanities of universities, have for the most part, already been overrun. There are a lot of videos on youtube bye Stephen Hicks and Jordan Peterson about Postmodernism.

  • Brian: Giving this hateful bigotry the academic fake name “postmodernism” is playing into the hands of the fascists that are now running the universities. The goal of postmodernism was always to make rational Western philosophy and thought unacceptable to future scholars, and to do so in a way that left them ignorant.

I think the professor here did the right thing.

Robert: I agree, Postmodernism is a fake academic name. It is Marxism and Fascism. At some point, I don’t when or how, rational everyday people are going to have to stand up to this, because it’s only going to get worse.

Reminds me of single minded educational systems in the far distant past. If you question what is taught, you’re in danger of being burned at the stake as a heretic. Galileo spent many years of observation before he came out with his conclusions later in life. It got him house arrest for the rest of his days by the church.
Modern universities allow “the freedom of speech” as long as it’s the “right kind of speech”. Any speech unauthorized, or politically incorrect is forbidden. They believe it is dangerous for students to take the initiative to do their own unsupervised thinking.
The goal is pre-programmed reactions to social stimuli. Free thinking/critical thinking and conflict resolution results in failure of the education system.

Conformity of thought is the goal.

The threat of sea monsters and sailing off the edge of the flat world was useful to control trade. (Educated people knew that the world was round, proven 200 years before Christ)
Thought control of the masses insurers safety, security, productivity for those who wish to manipulate them. Useful robots, slaves, a “resource” as a means for wealth and cannon fodder.
All socialist/communist systems have found it necessary to remove all the free thinkers and useless eaters from the system to prevent acknowledgment of failure, and to slow down the consumption of resources.
“Running out of other peoples money”.
They were always one execution away from Utopia…

    Here is an example of same think;
The newscast stated that a new test for skin cancer, developed in Australia, is very accurate and will soon be on the market.
Then the broadcaster went on to explain that there is more skin cancer in Australia due to UV rays coming through the O-Zone hole at the south pole.
There are so many things wrong with this statement that any person who thinks about it would dismiss it out of hand and yet it’s repeated over and over again for the last 20 years.
let’s name a few, starting with the fact that Australia is closer to the equator then the south pole. Northern Australia is at 10° north, equivalent of Panama and Costa Rica in the northern hemisphere.
Southern Australia is at 40° south (Tasmania being the point below 40°, the halfway point between the south pole and the equator is 45°). This is the The equivalent in the northern hemisphere of New York City, Beijing, Spain, Southern Italy, turkey, Salt Lake City.
UV rays from the ozone hole? Really? 2,600 miles away over the curvature of the earth?
The most direct path for UV to take (if you could bend light like a black hole) would be to enter through the hole, follow the curvature of the earth and hit Australia… During the middle of the night.
The alternative is for light from the sun to go through the hole and make 180° turn, like a mirror in space, and follow the curve of the earth back to Australia so that it arrives in the daytime. Ridiculous!
The problem with this, if it is not obvious, is that the hole, during this time, is parallel to the sun, getting it’s first light in six months. UV light can reflect off the ice/Ocean and pass up through the hole, but without a mirror in space, it can never pass down through the hole. (re-writing the laws of physics is not beyond the political establishment, all they need is a consensus… And some starving children with skin cancer)
The ozone hole only appears in the first month and a half of spring… September and part of November. Long before it reaches it’s peak in December/January where it circles the sky 24/7 for longer than three months.
The O-Zone hole closes up once the frozen/non-reactive polar stratospheric clouds burn away with the first rays of sun light. The clouds disappear not to return until the following spring in its yearly cycle. Any UV rays contributed to the hole could only occur in the Australian spring time.
Let’s review the nature of O-Zone.
As long as this planet has 1/oxygen in it’s atmosphere, and the sun has 2/ionizing radiation, there will be O-Zone. To “destroy” O-Zone one of these two factors have to be removed from the equation. Nothing else is possible.
Whenever you hear the phrase; “destruction of the O-Zone layer” or “destroying O-Zone” remember, matter cannot be created nor destroyed. That entire phraseology is designed to incite fear and panic.
How much O-Zone is there? 300 Dobson units is the equivalent of the height of two pennies at sea level pressure. (averages 200 to 400 DU) In plain speak, the O-Zone layer is between 3 to 8 ppm depending if it’s day or night. (in dollars, that is 3 to 8 dollars out of 1 million dollars. In the long summer, 10 ppm have been measured)
Does O-Zone block UV light? Yes, in proportion to its amount… Which is so small it is extremely difficult to measure. Out of 10 million parts of our atmosphere, 2 million (20%) is oxygen molecules. 3 are O-Zone.
The scale is difficult to explain, it reminds me of a scene from the movie “hitchhikers guide to the galaxy” where a word from the leading character accidentally fell into a dimensional rift just as two mighty galactic civilizations in that dimension we’re having peace talks. The word turned out to be an insult resulting in a galactic war.
The aliens figured out eventually where the insult came from and traveled through the dimensional rift to punish those responsible.
Upon entering our universe it became apparent that their size is on a quantum scale and the entire fleet were eaten by a dog.

Why isn’t there more Ozone than this? Because of naturally occurring O-Zone depleting chemicals… The leading reactionary chemical that keeps O-Zone to a bare minimum is… Drumroll please… O-Zone! (Nitrogen {78% of the atmosphere} plays a big role also)
When O3 runs into another O3,or NO (nitrous oxide) and other Nx high-energy molecules, it gives up the energy and reverts back to normal oxygen and nitrogen. The creation of O-Zone reaches a peek where it is being destroyed as fast as it’s beening created.
At night, the sky glows green, as seen through the window of the space station, as it continues to give up energy until the cold of space freezes it.

Just a pet peeve of mine, stuck in my craw since the art bell days. It was bad science then, and still infuriates me to hear it repeated. It’s like the educational system still teaching flat earth or Tera being the center of the universe, or socialism (not capitalism) created food production, flying machines, phones, cars, the Internet…
