Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu last Friday posted a short video, embedded below, that I think well states what the real obstacle to peace is in the Middle East. And it certainly isn’t the presence of Israelis in the West Bank.
Not surprisingly, his blunt but honest words have caused many on the left and in Arab communities to express outrage. I must note however that, as I have documented, the only governments in the Middle East that forbid the presence of people solely due to their race or religion are the Arab ones, including Palestine.

For the first video commenters are saying he’s accusing Muhammad Morsi of deep running corruption and of stealing millions of Egypt’s income, nothing to do with religion.

Andrew W’s interests are very, very subjective and is a proponent of the forced mixing of these two un-mixable cultures.
When having these conversations I always ask myself “What is my counter parts motivation and why do they believe what they say believe? And, are they representing their own opinions OR are they an operative (paid or other wise) pushing a political agenda for some political organization or government agency (either foreign or domestic) designed to muddy the waters in the various media sites where opinions are shared?
Andrew W, you are unable to understand the foundation concepts of this particular subject “Freedom” that we are involved in. You have been brain washed for your entire life with the political positions that you promote. I said earlier that you were intelligent and thoughtful, and what you have revealed here is that you are very well educated in the doctrine in which you have grown up in and are endeavoring to promote it. I assume that you are a son a a wealthy government official? (Probably schooled in England? Probably not in America because you do not understand the freedoms that you write about)
True Americans that understand the Constitution reject every word that you write about how the world works and what true individual freedom is and what is the strongest way to counter balance the abuse of power that is present in all forms of governance, the Constitution.

The problem for me is that I don’t know if the people who made those videos are credible. I don’t speak arabic so I can’t tell for myself. The first video isn’t posted by MEMRI, who I do trust but it is a reposting of one of their videos and it looks like new captions. I guess I could go search MEMRI videos and see but I am a little lazy.

I encountered some Muslim immigrants in the park the other day and they had a minor freak out because I was walking my dog. It was unsettling. In the end, it was a mixed reaction. A couple of them were nice and a couple weren’t. I have met other people over the years who were uncomfortable with my dogs, small children who don’t have dogs and some of those weird lefty dog haters.
Dogs have been a part of human culture for 40,000 years. I am not sure what to make of people that dislike dogs. Kids get a pass because they are inexperienced, lefties get ridiculed, but how am I to respond to people who hate my dogs for cultural reasons? Can I treat them like nutjob lefties who hate dogs or am I expected to cater to their prejudice?
Dogs don’t like terminators and tribbles don’t like Klingons. We should respect their opinions! ;-)

Some folks do have a legitimate fear and/or allergies to, Cats or Dogs, so I would propose we tread lightly, except in a humorous vein! (As always, best to keep one’s animal(s) under control & present them in the best light possible in public, especially to younger kids.)
Anecdotally– what I’ve run across a lot, unpleasant interactions with animals as children. (lets break the cycle!)
Totally off topic; 5-7 pm is the golden-hour for dog-walking in my neighborhood. My (leashed) Cat & I will hang out on the front lawn & watch them go by… (Golden Retriever’s & Shepard’s are very popular in my area &a good 50% also keep a Cat.)

article in the WSJ this week about a small city in Israel that is extremely Dog-friendly and very proud to be so. Sorta the “dog-loving Capital of Israel,” and probably the whole Middle East, what with all the dog-hating going on “over there,”… everywhere except Israel, apparently. (They do spay/neuter stray cats (no-kill) and are quick to say, “we don’t hate Cat’s, we’re just very fond of Dog’s here.”)
I find that to be incredibly ironic & very cool.
(I’m hoping the next President, will hold a State Dinner for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and welcome him to the White House through the front door, this time.)

There is a very good reason for being careful with hygiene around dogs, hydatids:
A person who comes in contact with the faeces of an infected dog (that is, when eggs from the tapeworm are passed in the faeces) may develop hydatid disease. This is serious and potentially fatal. Infection with tapeworm eggs causes cysts to form in vital organs such as the liver and lungs.
The hydatids tape worm is not a problem in urban areas as dogs don’t usually have access to raw offal, in rural communities where hydatids has been known, people aware of the disease can be very careful in keeping kids and dogs apart, I’ve seen a livestock agent get in a real flap when a dog has gone up to lick a child, and no, he wasn’t a Muslim, he was just aware of the risk.
I’ve got a couple of comments with links awaiting moderation, there doesn’t seem to be any clear ruling in Islam on dogs. There is a very good reason why rural population in many parts of the world should be careful around dogs though – hydatids, which is not a problem in Western urban environments because the dogs don’t usually have access to raw offal.

To my readers again: I want to point out again the corrupt debate techniques that Andrew_W is using, which also happen to be the standard techniques of the left. He seems unable to comprehend the terrible reality that in the past fifteen years since Sept 11, practically all terrorist acts have been committed in the name of Islam, and sadly the number of terrorist acts committed in the name of Islam during that time period now numbers almost 30,000. No other religion, organization, country, or ethnic group during this time period has a record even close to this. We have a problem with modern Islam, today, now, in this time, which many believe is based on the religion’s own philosophy, but even if not, is presently causing the majority of the terrorism worldwide.
Andrew_W doesn’t like the fact that I and my readers point out this reality. So, he does what all leftists and liberals do, he calls us bigoted. We are “bigots”, even though no one hear has expressed hatred for all Muslims, only for the increasingly corrupted religion to which they follow. His dishonesty here is majestic. He watches a Hamas MP express outright hate for Israel and Jews, and sees nothing there. He sees a Muslim man call for the murder of Christians, and he sees nothing there. He would probably watch a terrorist yelling “Allahu Akbar!” while using a truck to run down and kill innocent men, women, and children on a French sidewalk and see nothing there. Nothing anyone shows him about the intolerance and madness that is taking over the Muslim world will break through that cone of silence he has placed over his brain. He is either being willfully blind (something that is unfortunately not unusual among many modern Western intellectuals), or he himself approves of the intolerant and hateful language and behavior being increasingly expressed by Muslims, but needs to disguise that approval because it would discredit him to make that approval obvious.
His only response, as is always the only argument the modern bankrupt leftist intellectual really knows how to make, is to call those who disagree with him bigots.
I once again do not note this for Andrew_W’s sake, since he will continue to ignore or dismiss what I write, but to make sure my readers are aware of it.
I will add however that at a certain point, I will no longer tolerate this on my website.
If I may suggest that Andrew W continue to be allowed to “express” himself here, his writing and positions are the best test of his argument and it does serve a purpose in revealing the illogic or agenda that he and his adherents attest to.
