The Russian-Trump collusion story: a media disinformation campaign

Link here. The author does an excellent job reviewing, in detail, how the mainstream Democratic media reported the Russian-Trump collusion story, from its inception before the election and since, and how all reporters involved, seemingly terrified of a Trump-Putin partnership, had had zero concerns about similar and actual Obama-Putin deal-making — often against the interests of the U.S. — during his entire administration.

The key quote, however, is this:

The reason the media will not report on the scandal now unfolding before the country, how the Obama administration and Clinton campaign used the resources of the federal government to spy on the party out of power, is not because the press is partisan. No, it is because the press has played an active role in the Trump-Russia collusion story since its inception. It helped birth it.

To report how the dossier was made and marketed, and how it was used to violate the privacy rights of an American citizen—Page—would require admitting complicity in manufacturing Russiagate. Against conventional Washington wisdom, the cover-up in this case is not worse than the crime: Both weigh equally in a scandal signaling that the institution where American citizens are supposed to discuss and debate the choices about how we live with each other has been turned against a large part of the public to delegitimize their political choices. [emphasis mine]

Essentially, we have two very bad scandals unfolding here. First and foremost, the previous president abused the power of his office to spy on his party’s opponent during the campaign, and used that information as a weapon during the campaign. Second and almost as significant, the press teamed up with that president to help him spy and attack that opponent, and is now working to squelch any mention of that abuse of power that they participated in.

To put it mildly, the mainstream press has become an American version of the Soviet press when it was required to work for the communists or face prison. Here in the U.S. however there is no fear of prison. The press is doing this voluntarily. It is no longer looking for real scoops. It is only interested in advocating the election of Democrats.

As a journalist this makes me more than ashamed. It completely disgusts me.

Genesis cover

On Christmas Eve 1968 three Americans became the first humans to visit another world. What they did to celebrate was unexpected and profound, and will be remembered throughout all human history. Genesis: the Story of Apollo 8, Robert Zimmerman's classic history of humanity's first journey to another world, tells that story, and it is now available as both an ebook and an audiobook, both with a foreword by Valerie Anders and a new introduction by Robert Zimmerman.

The ebook is available everywhere for $5.99 (before discount) at amazon, or direct from my ebook publisher, ebookit. If you buy it from ebookit you don't support the big tech companies and the author gets a bigger cut much sooner.

The audiobook is also available at all these vendors, and is also free with a 30-day trial membership to Audible.

"Not simply about one mission, [Genesis] is also the history of America's quest for the moon... Zimmerman has done a masterful job of tying disparate events together into a solid account of one of America's greatest human triumphs."--San Antonio Express-News

It is civil war by cowards. It’s the star trek episode where populations are taken to the destruction chambers in a simulated war. By the time the losers realize it existential there will not be enough of them to fight back.

There is no mystery here. If law doesn’t result in massive prison time then we are witnessing the end.

The swamp will not go without a real fight that can not be avoided.

I will give a first person testimony just how successful this media disinformation campaign has been.

Butting heads today with a salesman who is a knee slap anti Trumper, he says to me as we spoke about Mueller and the “Russian Collusion” investigation. “What about all of the guilty pleas related to the Russian investigation?”, ” Yeah, three or four guilty pleas.”

“What guilty pleas, you mean Flynn? He pled guilty to lying to the FBI, nothing about Russia, who else pleaded guilty and to what?”

He had no answer, he just has this picture painted in his head and Russia conspiring with Trump placed there by the media. He believes that there has already been convictions. Everything that he brought up was some degree of misinformation or disinformation, no substance based in fact at all. As many here know, I do this most all day long so someone who attempts to present “evidence” to me related to this particular issue has a very difficult job.

The media and the politicians who they support have a very effective weapon that they constantly pump out and it is effective because many in the country are not well versed in the facts. Our weapon is evidence / facts, truth, an American agenda and …………………the one thing that equalizes the field now, the internet and instant communications. A sword that does cut two ways..

If the Democrats and their MSM intended to cover up their collusion with Putin, they’ve done a good job. Over a year of all news media constantly talking meaningless nonsense about Trump having colluded with Putin has made everyone so totally exhausted that no one cares anymore. When it is proven how the Clintons colluded with Putin now, no one wants to hear about it. The words Russia and collusion are now pure spam and automatically triggers everyone to switch channel or site. It doesn’t matter if Clinton colluded with Putin, no one can listen to any of it anymore. It is some kind of meta-propaganda strategy that has succeeded for them. Super-liminal rather than sub-liminal.

Unfortunately, Fox News has done nothing but talking about it too, instead of covering news about what is happening in society and the world. It is very hard to watch anything on Fox News anymore, except for Tucker Carlson. Just incomprehensible nonsense about some memo and the constant repeating of the spam words “Russian collusion” twice a minute, triggering the spam alert.

This is what makes it so insulting that they now consider themselves a priesthood dedicated to truth and unquestionable.

Just about any article you can fisk line by line to expose lies, distortions, material omissions, and sometimes just being wrong. Examining sentence structure and vocabulary also reveals deep bias. Despite everyone knowing how to read, they think everyone is too stupid to know how they misuse language.

    I hope for a shockwave.

    On information and disinformation:

MR. PRESIDENT, PLEASE STOP THE VIOLENCE!

These are the kinds of headlines that we are seeing in the politically divisive and manipulative and intellectually dishonest media. Then we all again come to understand that the person that has committed some vile and heinous crime, taking the life of an innocent person or persons using a firearm, or a bomb, or a truck, or a plane, or what ever mode of mass destruction they have chosen to express their displeasure with their life, they:

Were visited by the police 39 times over 5 years, they had mental issues, they threaten people with violence, they were violent, they are or were under the care of a psychiatrist, they are or were on psychotropic drugs, they abuse or kill small animals, they have posted their intent on the social media sites, they have stated their extreme and violent racist beliefs, the people who know them all tell of how he told them of his intent and that he was evil, the FBI has information of their intent, The FBI has done some level of investigation but have not taken any actions despite real and hard evidence, they were abused as a child, they are or have been indoctrinated into some radical religious sect or radical political organization that openly promotes violence. And then there is just plain bat shit crazy and no one knows anything about what is bouncing around in their brain when they go off.

    http://www.nydailynews.com/news/national/cruz-bought-ar-15-days-kicked-school-article-1.3824515

I am sick of hearing this same media and politician self gratifying morally superior narrative over and over again blaming some other political leader that happens to be in office. What they imply is that this particular politician can do something, but they are refusing to do it. But no one in the community or the police or the FBI who has had first hand understanding and / or notification has any culpability or responsibility. The truth is that these events are from the evidence we come to understand are reasonably predictable and these individuals should at least be interviewed and evaluated and at least put on notice without there being a violation of their rights as an American. And even then some nut will get through any system set up to sort it all out.

What can a politician do? IMO, First, anyone who perpetrates such mass violence needs to be automatically legally classified as a Federal criminal bypassing any state control for denying innocent people their right to life and their penalty needs to be certain, known and unambiguous through due process if they happen to survive their evil acts. Timothy McVeigh was dispatched due to his actions in a proper and timely manner.

I will not listen to any of it any more.

    > Mueller indicts 13…………………………..Russians.

Mueller and Rosenstein doing their job.

  • David

Mr. Mueller and Mr. Rosenstein doing their job indeed.

To what extent there was involvement of Americans in this attack on our nation remains to be determined no matter how desperately the President and a segment of the population proclaim otherwise. I’m glad Mr. Mueller and his team of investigators can keep their collective mouths closed and not leak, leak, leak like so much else in D.C. So, no one really knows what the involvement (if any) of the President or his tight-knit inner circle was/is.

So that’s what 13 Russians and five Americans indicted so far? Two of the five Americans have already plead guilty. Today’s 37 page indictment against the Russians is must-reading for any American concerned about our nation’s democracy and Russia’s willingness to do wide-ranging damage to our country.

Now, will the administration finally enforce the sanctions that were overwhelmingly passed by both R’s and D’s? The Secretary of State may say the mere threat of enforcing these enhanced sanctions is working, but today’s indictment and the testimony of the heads of our intelligence agencies earlier this week show how determined the Russians have been and remain to this day to damage our nation with their attack.

And where is our President today and tonight? Why has he not addressed what today’s indictment so stunningly presents? Russia is attacking our nation to this day and seeding conflict between Americans thru their online campaign. I pray our commander in chief will stop thinking about himself and defend the American people.

Regarding Mr. Zimmerman’s post, if members of the Obama administration did commit the crimes alleged, than I would think that between the Justice Department, F.B.I. and the republican controlled House and Senate that investigations will resolve this in time. And it should be investigated and if indictments are warranted than so be it. That said, I’m more worried about what is happening today and what could happen tomorrow. The 2018 elections are coming up fast!

P.S. My first time visiting this site since November. Glad to see the same mix of science and politics. Always thought provoking Mr. Zimmerman!

David, you appear to live in the leftist MSM fueled alternate universe. I’m not saying that the right-wing Fox news fueled alternate universe is 100% correct (they’re not), but some of the things you write are far off base.

“I’m glad Mr. Mueller and his team of investigators can keep their collective mouths closed and not leak, leak, leak like so much else in D.C.”

They have leaked as much as anybody, as Page and Strozk (spelling?) discussed in their texts to each other

“So that’s what 13 Russians and five Americans indicted so far? Two of the five Americans have already plead guilty.”

I thought it was 4 Americans, but that’s a trivial point (and I may be wrong on it). Take a look at what the charges; they are unrelated to Russian interference in the elections and mostly “process” crimes. The charges were brought to bring pressure on them to talk.

“Regarding Mr. Zimmerman’s post, if members of the Obama administration did commit the crimes alleged, than I would think that between the Justice Department, F.B.I. and the republican controlled House and Senate that investigations will resolve this in time.”

You fail to see that the main culprits in these crimes are members of the Justice Department and the F.B.I.

I have no doubt that the Russians (and the Chinese and others) have tried to interfere in our elections. The issue is whether or not Trump and company were involved. I’m not 100% convinced they are as innocent as they claim; even if it was a Democrat set-up (I’m agnostic on whether or not it was), Trump Junior may very well have met with Russian lawyer to get the dirt on Hillary.

Even if that happened, how is that different (or even as bad as) Hillary’s admitted “opposition research” in funding the Steele dossier?

Also, Obama didn’t even try to hide that he was trying to interfere in Israel’s election.

I don’t blame other countries for trying to interfere in our elections; they’ve done it for a long time. We should absolutely prosecute those who try, but should focus our efforts on hardening our systems to make them resistant to interference, but all enemies of democracy, foreign and domestic (including double voters, dead voters, non citizen voters, those who block access to voting, etc.)

    good stuff.

“There is no truth in Izvestiya and there is no information in Pravda.”

  • Steve Earle

So there are 13 Russians that are accused of colluding with…… Russia??

I’d like to know how what they did is any different than Obama spending our tax dollars to influence an election in Israel?

And David…. (as well as the MSM)….. No comment on the Crime the DNC committed when they threw the Primary Election to Hillary at the expense of Bernie?

  • Steve Earle

Cotour, I’m sure Mr Z will understand since you immediately apologized.

If there was an Edit feature on this board, mistakes like that wouldn’t be an issue……..

  • Cotour

    Steve Earl:

There really was no “crime” committed by the DNC against Bernie per se, Bernie never had a chance from the get go and he ultimately understood that, was only there for contrast for a short time to make it appear that Hillary had competition and Democrats had a choice, but it was always going to be her no matter what. The Hillary machine owned the DNC literally as evidenced by the financial contract that they signed with her / them. He or she who writes the checks is the boss. PS: The DNC is a private political club and can do pretty much as they please.

The real crime is the DNC misleading Democrats and raising money by misrepresentation I.E. defrauding the many, many Bernie supporters and leading them on draining their resources. (Why anyone would have supported him I have no idea, but we are taking about Democrats who are IMO dying a slow death due to their now Un American beliefs).

And again, when you step back you understand just how insidious the “Hillary is going to be the next president” “FACT” / MEME was and that everything corrupt in government literally and actually leads back to her and her ambitions. Why? Because she and her crew have been setting this up for years and have let it be known that Hillary was and would be ruthless when she was the president. This IMO is a form of psychological warfare of fear and retribution that resulted in the communal criminality where no one would dare stand in her way.

I have said before that if Trump were to just sit behind the Resolute desk in his underwear he would have done a great service to the country and the world, everything else is either gravy or divine providence, choose your metaphor. (I am tending to the divine providence explanation myself. God always chooses the faulty man or woman to prove his / her point and promote his / her agenda. And Trump fits the job description to a tee)

(If I need I assign you to argue my defense.)

  • Steve Earle

Cotour, I’ll gladly step up to be your defense counsel but I will require a sizable retainer up front…. ;-)

So no crime was committed when the DNC acted purposely to throw a National Election (albeit a series of State Primary Elections….)? And then attempted to cover up said throwing?

If that’s the case then why did DWS resign? Purely for optics to pacify the Bernie-Bros?

Did/does she have any fear of criminal prosecution for her actions?

Can any Political Party manipulate the vote in any Primary any way they like as long as they don’t do the same in a General Election?

  • Steve Earle

This deserves to be repeated. Excellent point Localfluff! This is a repeated tactic of the modern left. If there is no legitimate defense then use Alinsky tactics and project their crimes onto others, preferably LOUDLY and REPEATEDLY until the waters are so muddy that eyes glaze over and all that’s remembered is the first headline and the first accusation, no matter how wrong it is.

And it works. Many of my friends have tuned out completely and don’t want to hear about it anymore. All they took away was that Trump colluded with Russians to throw the Election.

This will forever be a stain on Trump, the same way that Sarah Palin was painted as dumb and out of touch and that’s what people still remember about her….

  • Cotour

IMO what the DNC does internally as a private organization, even though they say that everything will be on the up and up and objective, is what they do internally. Prove that they are manipulating their charter. Good luck, these particular politicos, the Democrats of the DNC, lie like they breath, often and regularly, about everything. As far as they are concerned what they do is no ones damn business.

The, “Hillary is the next president” agenda was well known to me at the time, Pee wee Herman could have figured that out, forget about Nostradamus. When Bernie started to make some moves and built a bit of momentum a friend of mine who supported Bernie was all excited. I told him that Bernie what ever the numbers were for him is going nowhere, its going to be Hillary, period, get over it. He fought me all the way up to where Bernie was taken out. Duh to him.

After Wikileaks released Podesta, Wasserman’s and Brazills emails and everyone saw the double dealing that was going on internally at the DNC and there in the opaque leadership arrangements became transparent. Big, big problem.

When evidence of actual manipulation and bait and switch becomes irrefutable and public and they can no longer deny their private clandestine “secret” plans then they become legally at risk. The same goes for the Clinton Foundation. They are all liars dealing in millions, maybe billions of tax free donations, basically they are perpetrating fraud on the voters and the IRS and the Federal Election Commission. AND the opposition has now taken over the reigns of power. Bad combination that presents lots of liability.

    https://www.dailydot.com/layer8/dnc-lawsuit-bernie-sanders-hillary-clinton/

“Essentially, the suit argues that the DNC violated its own charter—specifically, Article 5 Section 4—which states the chairperson of the party “shall exercise impartiality and even-handedness” between candidates running for president and their respective campaigns.”

As soon as the DNC actually had real transparency into their internals all bets are off.

THEN CAME TRUMP. A true miracle candidate, a possible example of divine intervention?

All of course in my opinion. (But I have been very accurate in this election cycle) We are but at the tip of a very, very large iceberg.

  • david

Hello Garry. Thank you for your comments. In reply…

I think that the suggestion I live in a “leftist” alternative universe may be the first time in my somewhat lengthy life that anyone has applied that to me. I’m not a leftist and never have or will be one. My critical comments about our current president and my concern about the “Russian” story are based on my taking in lots of info from across the entire “news” landscape in all its forms of presentation and with the passage of time. Sad but true, I think that’s the only way to truly see all the info – I don’t rely on a single news source to get a detailed balanced account of what happens particularly in any politically-charged story.

Regarding Mueller and his team, we will have to just disagree. I think they’ve done a remarkable job so far at keeping quiet. As an example, no one that I know of, knew the 13 indictments were coming down until they did. Compared with the leaks that come out of the House and Senate investigations, Mueller is as quiet as a mouse. That’s just my opinion and always subject to revision with what comes to pass. And I think it is five Americans, the fifth is currently reported to be discussions with Mueller on making a guilty admission as part of a plea agreement according to reporters who have talked to the guy’s current (and recently added) lawyers. That will make three Americans who have plead guilty and counting.

Regarding the Steele document (which much has been proven as time has gone by), it’s difference in my eyes that it’s opposition research, research done by all aspiring for president from what I’ve seen thru the years. Now whether they should have used a former brit spy is a fair question. What the Russians did was far far far more sinister in its many tentacles reaching repeatedly day-after-day directly into American social media, fake websites created to look like they were created by Americans, fake stories, Russian trolls, troll farms pretending to be Americans creating confusion, spreading lies, etc.

Regarding what Obama is accused of doing in Israel’s election, if correct, than that was wrong. As far as Trump and his inner circle goes, the jury is still out in my eyes whether they did any thing illegal or not. But for now, I just want Trump to do his job and enforce the sanctions that were passed and to stop kissing Putin’s backside and for Mueller to be allowed to complete his investigation.

On the F.B.I., Justice department and our various intelligence agencies, I trust them far more than I do the president at this point.

  • David

Hi Steve. regarding your question, no one asked me before what I thought of Hillary and the DNC’s actions during the primary. To be honest, I don’t care what democrats do in their primaries. They’re not my party.

  • Cotour

    David:

“I think they’ve done a remarkable job so far at keeping quiet. As an example, no one that I know of, knew the 13 indictments were coming down until they did. ”

As long as it served their purposes they were quiet.

” What the Russians did was far far far more sinister in its many tentacles reaching repeatedly day-after-day directly into American social media, fake websites created to look like they were created by Americans, fake stories, Russian trolls, troll farms pretending to be Americans creating confusion, spreading lies, etc.”

“Sinister”? THEY ARE RUSSIANS! Our entire societal structure invites such activities by all comers because we are a Democratic Republic, we do similar things but not with such freedom and abandon as the Russians and the Chinese, why is that? BECAUSE THEY ARE COMMUNISTS!

“On the F.B.I., Justice department and our various intelligence agencies, I trust them far more than I do the president at this point.”

Are you not paying attention? The leadership of the FBI, the DOJ and the CIA through massive amounts of documentation and evidence have ALL worked in concert to undermine our Constitution. Does that not concern you David? What will you think when these players are indicted?

“That’s just my opinion and always subject to revision with what comes to pass.”

Prepare to revise, although your appreciation of the facts that have so far been revealed do not hold out much hope of much of a “revision”.

Trump, love him or hate him was duly and leagaly elected the president of the United States of America, your personal judgment related his personal morality needs to be segregated from what he is accomplishing in the real world that benefits and reconnects us to our Constitutional principles .

  • Cotour

    And I continue:

” And I think it is five Americans, the fifth is currently reported to be discussions with Mueller on making a guilty admission as part of a plea agreement according to reporters who have talked to the guy’s current (and recently added) lawyers. That will make three Americans who have plead guilty and counting.”

And what did they plead guilty of David and what does it related to?

(If the FBI came and interviewed you for what ever reason, you too would be compelled to plead guilty to what ever them came looking for. My suggestion? Never talk to an FBI agent in their official capacity unless you are trying to get them to pick someone up who you think is a danger to the general public. And then its just a shot in the dark as revealed by the evidence before us.)

Your cognitive and reasoning processes are like many in the public who identify with the letter “D” (Although you profess to be an “R” or similar), not bad people but they tend to conflate things together that are related but not the same and form incorrect conclusions.

  • wayne

-jeez, the whole history of Hollywood is a case-study in soviet/Russian cultural-warfare & propaganda.
-the lion-rapist of the Senate, Teddy Kennedy, actively conspired with the soviets to attack Reagan in the ’84 election and undermine his 2nd term.
    – We got stuck with FBI, ostensibly due to Prohibition, when that was repealed, the FBI hung on and subsequently ran by 1 guy for almost 40 years.

Why do we have a Federal police-force?

    And I continue further:

“Hi Steve. regarding your question, no one asked me before what I thought of Hillary and the DNC’s actions during the primary. To be honest, I don’t care what democrats do in their primaries. They’re not my party.”

In the bigger picture, David, what DO you care about? “Kim Dotcom: “Let Me Assure You, The DNC Hack Wasn’t Even A Hack.””
    https://www.zerohedge.com/news/2018-02-18/kim-dotcom-let-me-assure-you-dnc-hack-wasnt-even-hack

“Let me assure you, the DNC hack wasn’t even a hack. It was an insider with a memory stick. I know this because I know who did it and why. Special Counsel Mueller is not interested in my evidence. My lawyers wrote to him twice. He never replied….”

“Dotcom’s assertion is backed up by an analysis done last year by a researcher who goes by the name Forensicator, who determined that the DNC files were copied at 22.6 MB/s – a speed virtually impossible to achieve from halfway around the world, much less over a local network – yet a speed typical of file transfers to a memory stick.”

=Seth Rich. (until they killed him)

If you ever want to visit Hillsdale, there’s no quick way to get there. It’s about 125 miles from Grand Rapids and about 100 miles from Detroit.
(on the upside–since Betsy Devos was appointed, the G.R. airport now has 4 direct-flights to D.C./daily.)

  • Cotour

Yes, I am aware of the down load speed problem in the “Russian” DNC hacking assertion, therefore Seth Rich being the DNC security risk is entirely plausible and his death is also totally plausible for doing so. That is how high risk this entire operation to assure Hillary becoming the president was.

I watched the video about Hillsdale, I did see that there was a 6 seater Cessna at their airport. Being far away from “civilization” is a valuable selling point.

I really haven’t been following too-closely, but I tend to believe Kim Dotcom, on the esoteric web-stuff.

    Ref: Hillsdale-
Ha. That ‘airport’ scene made me cringe. (did they mention, twice, they have high speed fiber optic?) I-69 is your closest Interstate, via I-94 to the north or I-80/90 to the south.
Nice place, especially in the Fall. agriculture & light-industrial.

    Hi Cotour. In reply…

I thought about taking a lot of time to reply to your numerous comments and questions – I really did. That said, I have observed for some time how you conduct discussions on political matters (particularly when Trump or a Clinton is involved). I simply have neither the time (sadly, I type dreadfully s-l-o-w) nor the patience to say anything further than what follows…

All I’ll say (again) is that I want our country’s laws enforced and as needed investigations conducted to protect my fellow Americans. The accused to receive a fair trial. Regardless of whose political party is involved or what their last name is.

My comment about how democrats conduct their primaries is very simple – I don’t care how they choose. That is NOT saying I don’t care if laws are broken. I would have thought that was clear, but I guess not. Never been a democrat nor see how I’d ever join their political party. Spending time trying to protect my party from the infection that is corrupting it is where I focus my efforts.

Regarding our current president, I continue to hope and pray the man himself will change how he views “all this” and change his behavior. I don’t know if he or his inner-circle broke laws or not and await what the probe shows. Why he will not ACT to enforce the sanctions law worries me. The possible reasons why he won’t act scare me.

The one thing that you said that did not amuse me was your snide comment “…your appreciation of the facts that have been revealed do not hold out much hope of a revision.” There is no reason why I should expend time arguing the facts of a case with an individual who thinks they are so gifted they can forecast how my thoughts and evaluations will be presented in the future as new details and facts come to light.

That said, I wish you well in all your enterprises.

David, I got very busy with work the past few days, and wanted to respond to you.

First off, I was misguided in saying anything about you living in the leftist alternate universe; it looks that way to me, but I don’t identify with either party and it’s a waste of time to essentially call names.

I would agree that perhaps Mueller’s team has been doing a good job LATELY in not leaking, but go back a few months and it’s a completely different story. That doesn’t necessarily reflect on Mueller’s intent, but it was VERY leaky for a while, and he was appointed in response to Comey’s admitted leaking, which he admits was designed to do just that.

As I mentioned about the 3 Americans pleading guilty, they have plead guilty to crimes that have nothing to do with the Russian interference. Moreover, the “fruit of the poisonous tree” doctrine may make their prosecution untenable.

What from the Steel dossier has been proven? How is hiring a former Brit spy to dig up dirt on your opponent somehow less of a “crime” than agreeing to meet with some Russians who say they have dirt on your opponent (if that actually happened)?

You wrote, “What the Russians did was far far far more sinister in its many tentacles reaching repeatedly day-after-day directly into American social media, fake websites created to look like they were created by Americans, fake stories, Russian trolls, troll farms pretending to be Americans creating confusion, spreading lies, etc.”

How does that implicate Trump or any of his people in any way? The most anyone has credibly accused them of is agreeing to meet with Russians who said they had dirt on Hillary. Who’s to say that a former Brit spy who professes himself to be desperate that Trump not win, won’t go to similar lengths?

I agree that what the Russians did was horrible. Part of what they did (with funding from Hillary and with help from the wife of one of the FBI men looking into Trump) was help Steele put together his dossier. Then the FBI and the Justice Department took this and ran with it, to spy on at least one of Trump’s people, not once, but with at least two 3-month renewals. In this case, what the Russians did was dangerous for our democracy, partially because the Swamp helped them be more effective!

“But for now, I just want Trump to do his job and enforce the sanctions that were passed and to stop kissing Putin’s backside and for Mueller to be allowed to complete his investigation.”

Please educate me; what specific sanctions is Trump not enforcing, how would that help us, and who imposed the sanctions and when? Exactly how is he kissing Putin’s backside?

“On the F.B.I., Justice department and our various intelligence agencies, I trust them far more than I do the president at this point.”

If you limit this to the rank and file, I agree, but unfortunately they still have leadership that is rotten. After a full fumigation, I would agree with you.

By the way, I’m no great fan of Trump, although I fully support his stated goal of draining the Swamp, and I’ve been pleasantly surprised by his tax plan, for example. I’m appalled by some of his actions, such as his tweets on the FBI dropping the ball on the Florida school shootings.

But on the topic of this scandal, I’m more on Trump’s side than on the side of Mueller, the FBI, et al. Trump bungled this at different stages, but it’s clear to me this is nothing more than a plan to render him ineffective, under the ironic circumstances that Hillary, her people, and the Swamp played a far more active role helping the Russians than Trump and his people even tried to do.

You sound like a fairly reasonable, nice and civilized person David, but you seem to contradict yourself like many people do when they discuss their political positions.

“Snide”? Don’t think that complimenting me like that you are going to have me dial back my confrontational when necessary internet style here on BTB. (Snide is a compliment to me, you will find that I am probably the least civilized and most aggressive poster here but I do not do it without a positive goal in mind).

Looking forward to future encounters with you, and thank you for your well wishes.

    FBI/DOJ was “had”:
Will Trump pardon Rice, Powers, Kerry, Bidden, Obama…?
How about the high levels of DOJ/FBI, Rosenstein, Comey…?
I guess the former, rather than the latter.

  • Cotour

    Dave B:

Inspector General Horowitz’s report will be out in a couple of weeks, it must contain recommendations for indictments for the following players, off the top of my head:

    1. Anthony Weiner 2. Huma Weiner 3. James Comey 4. Andrew McCabe 5. Peter Strzock 6. Page 7. Susan Rice 8. Bruce Ohr 9. Mrs Ohr 10. Steele 11. Brennan 12. Wasserman Shultz 13. Clapper 14. John Podesta 15. Soros, and many more that are not coming to me at the moment.

Most all employees of government agencies who through the communal criminality network of the Hillary Clinton organization operated as an arm of her certain to be presidency in order that things be the way that they should be. This is called corruption and conspiracy and surrendering ones fiduciary responsibilities related to their sworn to the Constitution pledge, treason in many cases.

The operatives that exist in the Pedestrian realm where the law and courts must sort out the really bad actors. However, its the political actors who remain at arms length because they exist or have existed in the Political realm, a trickier list. This list includes but is not limited to the following and many actors were or are considered under the protection bubble of elected officials in the Political realm:

    1. Hillary Clinton 2. Bill Clinton 3. Obama 4. John Kerry

The Pedestrian indictment list MUST happen, if it does not happen to some extent and all of this treachery is swept under the rug for convenience then we as a country are truly doomed, there must be tremendous disruption and uncomfortability among these operatives and both political party’s. The Political Realm indictments will to some extent be a function of politics which will be lead into by the Pedestrian realm indictments but it will still be a function of Congress and not so much a function of law, it will be a gray area.

And then there will be the separate investigation into the fruadulent Clinton Foundation which is just another avenue to do what must be done to those political actors. The Clinton Foundation was set up as the operational hub through which all pay to play payoffs were funneled, have no doubt about that.

Our country must go through a tremendous Political and Pedestrian world upheaval and if it does not happen then we as Americans are just owned property, we are nothing more than that. Pray for massive unrest and disruption.

PS: If after the Horowitz report and recommendation Jeff Sessions is not ruthlessly unleashed to action resulting in indictments across the board and vigorous prosecutions resulting, and he is not immediately replaced by president Trump with a new pit bull Attorney General, maybe Trey Gowdy (?), then we are doomed as a people, owned by the true owners of America and the planet, whom ever that truly is. But at that point it is not us.

Prepare to buckle up, or bend over, we wait to see which.

  • Cotour

    And I continue:

We also have to figure into this American existential mess the fact that Robert Mueller and Rod Rosenstein and String Bean ST. Comey were all high level actors directing the FBI while the Uranium One fraud and selling out of American nuclear resources to actual Russian interests in order that they control the world uranium market was under way.

This agenda was a part of the now famous “Russian Reset” set forth by Obama, John Kerry and then Hillary Clinton. A presidents agenda that IMO could be reasonably viewed as treason characterized as international American strategy to some how or way placate the Russians so they would like us?

And that is a reasonable way to look at the weakness and overall agenda of the Leftist Obama, drain and redistribute American assets to the Russians and the Iranians in order to restructure the Middle East’s power balance. The problem? Obama was elected president of the United States Of America and there in is IMO immunized as were his appointed operators and representatives. This is where the Political Realm crashes into the sensibilities of the Pedestrian Realm.

But Mueller and Rosenstein and String Bean ST. Comey did not inform the Congress of these activities and the corruption that they were plainly aware of due to their Uranium One inside man Cambell involved the “Next president of the United States Of America” Hillary Clinton and her front loaded / pay to play “Foundation”.

Did they not inform the Congress due to the president ordering them not to? Did they not inform Congress because they feared the “next president” of the United States, Queen Hillary and what she would certainly do to anyone who dared stand in her way?

We are in desperate need of earth shattering confrontation and disruption of this now corrupted system that we call a government.
