UPS announced today that it is dropping the spousal coverage for 15,000 employees because of the cost of Obamacare.
Finding out what’s in it: UPS announced today that it is dropping the spousal coverage for 15,000 employees because of the cost of Obamacare.
To the Obama administration and the Democrats, this is proof that Obamacare works. According to a spokeswoman for U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, “The health care law will make health insurance more affordable, strengthen small businesses and make it easier for employers to provide coverage to their workers.” Well, obviously!
Orwell called this kind of thinking doublethink, the ability to hold two completely contradictory statements in your brain and see nothing contradictory about it.
On Christmas Eve 1968 three Americans became the first humans to visit another world. What they did to celebrate was unexpected and profound, and will be remembered throughout all human history. Genesis: the Story of Apollo 8, Robert Zimmerman's classic history of humanity's first journey to another world, tells that story, and it is now available as both an ebook and an audiobook, both with a foreword by Valerie Anders and a new introduction by Robert Zimmerman.
The ebook is available everywhere for $5.99 (before discount) at amazon, or direct from my ebook publisher, ebookit. If you buy it from ebookit you don't support the big tech companies and the author gets a bigger cut much sooner.
The audiobook is also available at all these vendors, and is also free with a 30-day trial membership to Audible.
"Not simply about one mission, [Genesis] is also the history of America's quest for the moon... Zimmerman has done a masterful job of tying disparate events together into a solid account of one of America's greatest human triumphs."--San Antonio Express-News

The WSJ just had an article stating that 8.5 million people have already signed up for Obama care.
They then did mental gymnastics during the report.
On one hand they said it was great that so many people were signing up and cheap coverage was the reason behind Obama care in the first place.
They then tried to make a real story out of it instead of a propaganda piece by their next paragraph.
They stated that Obama care was quickly going to be out of money if the rate of coverage sign ups continued at its present pace for the next few years. That Obama care federal program was never designed to cover possibly 24 to 32 million people. All before 2015.
They then tried to cover that line up with nice coverage about how all those people would be getting the coverage they needed even though their employers wouldn’t pay for their coverage.
“the ability to hold two completely contradictory statements in your brain and see nothing contradictory about it.”
There’s another word for that. It’ll come to me in a moment.
