Readers!

The time has come for my annual short Thanksgiving/Christmas fund drive for Behind The Black. I must do this every year in order to make sure I have earned enough money to pay my bills.

For this two-week campaign, I am offering a special deal to encourage donations. Donations of $200 will get a free autographed copy of the new paperback edition of Genesis: The Story of Apollo 8, while donations of $250 will get a free autographed copy of the new hardback edition. If you desire a copy, make sure you provide me your address with your donation.

As I noted in July, the support of my readers through the years has given me the freedom and ability to analyze objectively the ongoing renaissance in space, as well as the cultural changes -- for good or ill -- that are happening across America. Fourteen years ago I wrote that SLS and Orion were a bad ideas, a waste of money, would be years behind schedule, and better replaced by commercial private enterprise. Only now does it appear that Washington might finally recognize this reality.

In 2020 when the world panicked over COVID I wrote that the panic was unnecessary, that the virus was apparently simply a variation of the flu, that masks were not simply pointless but if worn incorrectly were a health threat, that the lockdowns were a disaster and did nothing to stop the spread of COVID. Only in the past year have some of our so-called experts in the health field have begun to recognize these facts.

Your help allows me to do this kind of intelligent analysis. I take no advertising or sponsors, so my reporting isn't influenced by donations by established space or drug companies. Instead, I rely entirely on donations and subscriptions from my readers, which gives me the freedom to write what I think, unencumbered by outside influences.

Please consider supporting my work here at Behind the Black. You can support me either by giving a one-time contribution or a regular subscription. There are four ways of doing so:

1. Zelle: This is the only internet method that charges no fees. All you have to do is use the Zelle link at your internet bank and give my name and email address (zimmerman at nasw dot org). What you donate is what I get.

2. Patreon: Go to my website there and pick one of five monthly subscription amounts, or by making a one-time donation.

3. A Paypal Donation or subscription:

4. Donate by check, payable to Robert Zimmerman and mailed to

Today’s blacklisted American: World’s top vaccine expert censored by Twitter & LinkedIn and punished by the CDC

No real scientists allowed!
The opinions of real scientists banned!

They’re coming for you next: Even as Martin Kulldorff, a Harvard medical professor and one of the world’s foremost experts on vaccines, has been repeatedly censored by Twitter and LinkedIn, he has been banned and punished by the CDC for daring to publicly dissent from its government lockdown and mask and vaccine mandate policies.

First, I think it important to know who Martin Kulldorff is. This article provides a succinct resume of his qualifications:

Dr. Martin Kulldorff is a professor of medicine at Harvard Medical School and a biostatistician and epidemiologist at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital. He helped develop the CDC’s current system for monitoring potential vaccine risks.

Then there is this opinion by one of his collegues:

Kulldorff is a “world-class” vaccine safety “superstar,” said Jeffrey Brown, a Harvard Medical School colleague specializing in drug and vaccine safety research. “His qualifications are spectacular,” Brown said of Kulldorff. “He’s an international expert in vaccine safety. No one on earth would question whether he’s qualified. … He’s a pioneer.”

And yet, he has now become a pariah on social media as well as at the CDC, all of whom are apparently no longer interested in a robust and honest discussion about COVID.

First Twitter in March began censoring Kulldorff for stating the government was wrong to demand that everyone be vaccinated. Kulldorff had tweeted the following:

Thinking that everyone must be vaccinated is as scientifically flawed as thinking that nobody should. COVID vaccines are important for older high-risk people, and their care-takers. Those with prior natural infection do not need it. Nor children.

The medical experts at Twitter — though trained as computer programmers — immediately blocked anyone from liking the tweet, and slapped this warning on it: “This Tweet is misleading.” I am so glad we have them to provide us our medical advice.

Then the CDC in April removed Kulldorff as a member of its vaccine safety advisory committee because it did not like the policy recommendations he had put forth in public, even though four days later the federal agency adopted those exact same recommendations.

Next, Twitter upped its blackballing effort by suspending Kulldorff for a month for daring to question the lockdown and mask mandates of governments.

Finally, LinkedIn last week took down two of Kulldoff’s posts, one linking to a long interview he did on COVID and what should and should not be done, and the second linking to statements by Iceland’s chief epidemiologist that stated:

… the only way Iceland can finally control Covid will be to allow exposure among the non-vulnerable thus building up herd immunity. Eradication is not an option, explained the scientist in comments covered widely in the press.

I think this Kulldorff quote best sums up the behavior of all these thugs:

“Twitter does not allow vaccine scientists to freely discuss vaccines.”

One of the reasons Kulldorff is likely under attack is because he is also one of the leading authors of the Great Barrington Declaration [also available here a pdf], which strongly disagrees with the policies of lockdowns, mandates, and the other totalitarian actions taken by governments in the past year, and instead calls for the more traditional (and successful) “focused” approach for dealing with epidemics and diseases: Protect the vulnerable (the old and sick) from the disease while letting everyone else (the young and healthy) live normal lives and thus get infected quickly, become immune, and thus squelch off the virus.

As the declaration concludes:

Adopting measures to protect the vulnerable should be the central aim of public health responses to COVID-19. By way of example, nursing homes should use staff with acquired immunity and perform frequent testing of other staff and all visitors. Staff rotation should be minimized. Retired people living at home should have groceries and other essentials delivered to their home. When possible, they should meet family members outside rather than inside. A comprehensive and detailed list of measures, including approaches to multi-generational households, can be implemented, and is well within the scope and capability of public health professionals.

Those who are not vulnerable should immediately be allowed to resume life as normal. Simple hygiene measures, such as hand washing and staying home when sick should be practiced by everyone to reduce the herd immunity threshold. Schools and universities should be open for in-person teaching. Extracurricular activities, such as sports, should be resumed. Young low-risk adults should work normally, rather than from home. Restaurants and other businesses should open. Arts, music, sport and other cultural activities should resume. People who are more at risk may participate if they wish, while society as a whole enjoys the protection conferred upon the vulnerable by those who have built up herd immunity.

Such a policy has worked repeatedly for previous epidemics of new respiratory illness. It also recognizes that such diseases cannot be eradicated like smallpox or polio, as these flulike diseases mutate and evolve too quickly, producing new strains on a yearly basis. All you can do is manage its arrival so that the most vulnerable are protected and the general population overcomes the disease as quickly as possible.

However, such a policy would not allow health officials and politicians to become more powerful. Better to squelch freedom and destroy lives, even if it does less than nothing to stop the spread of the disease.

And so, one of the world’s experts on vaccines and diseases is now blacklisted and blackballed, banned from participating in the decision-making process of our government. The dark age has arrived.

Genesis cover

On Christmas Eve 1968 three Americans became the first humans to visit another world. What they did to celebrate was unexpected and profound, and will be remembered throughout all human history. Genesis: the Story of Apollo 8, Robert Zimmerman's classic history of humanity's first journey to another world, tells that story, and it is now available as both an ebook and an audiobook, both with a foreword by Valerie Anders and a new introduction by Robert Zimmerman.

The print edition can be purchased at Amazon. from any other book seller, or direct from my ebook publisher, ebookit. The ebook is available everywhere for $5.99 (before discount) at amazon, or direct from my ebook publisher, ebookit. If you buy it from ebookit you don't support the big tech companies and the author gets a bigger cut much sooner.

The audiobook is also available at all these vendors, and is also free with a 30-day trial membership to Audible.

"Not simply about one mission, [Genesis] is also the history of America's quest for the moon... Zimmerman has done a masterful job of tying disparate events together into a solid account of one of America's greatest human triumphs."--San Antonio Express-News

Read the paper, and I say Bravo! This man should have Fauci’s job. But unfortunately we live in the American Dark Ages.

Dr. Kulldorff’s reasoned and reasonable statements seem similar to some I have posted here in the recent past:

“Anyone (excluding nursing home “inmates”, or convicts) who wants to lock-down/quarantine themselves can do so VERY effectively without forcing lock-down/quarantines upon others, or devastating the economy/society. Especially since most privately owned shopping/grocery centers voluntarily require masks (these SHOULD be specified as good low leakage masks) of all patrons/employees, the probability of getting infected there and then dying is extraordinarily small, much smaller than death from other common means (VERY few infections occur between strangers when reasonable masking and/or social distancing is implemented, even during the PEAK of an outbreak–see Taiwan, S. Korea, Hong Kong, and other “good-mask wearing” societies ); or you can wear an N-95 mask and gloves yourself regardless of the masking of others (unfortunately N-95 masks are not commonly available, which is the greatest failing, and most important response of all during an outbreak). An even better compromise is that masks are perhaps required between 4 am and noon in public areas specifically for people who are concerned/vulnerable to infection, but not required otherwise for those who are not. Private restaurants/bars etc in particular could be open mask free anytime to anyone who wishes to go, as these are not vital activities…let the patron be free to decide.
If you are then infected you have no one to blame but your self and the virus. You can quarantine yourself (and safely do necessary shopping, vital engagements, etc.) without dictating the devastation of the economy or broader society with mandated lock-down/quarantine.”

“All people under 50 (66 % of the population) , and not living with an older person, should be free go out into public domain and to their jobs and recreation without undo fear (wearing masks and cotton gloves if they so desire, or perhaps that should even be mandated for a limited time) ,keep schools open, get infected perhaps, get the covid-19 flu perhaps, endure the flu like symptoms if any, and then become immune to the virus and future infection. Some relatively few younger people (under 50) will die, as happens every flu season where 30,000 die annually! The virus will then have few bodies in which to multiply and the “pandemic” will then rapidly die away. Then the elderly can again come out (using common sense precautions) and be relatively safe. By that time vaccines and antivirals may be available.
Of course elderly people and those over 50(?) should stay away from possibly infected people/groups, [have visitors wear masks and gloves-mdm], stay at home, have groceries delivered, etc to be safer during that time…BUT THE EPIDEMIC WOULD BE OVER IN ABOUT A MONTH [probably 3 months-mdm].”

“If very few people are infectious and very few infected people are in any significant danger, then masks may well be unnecessary or not worth the trouble to the general public, regardless of how effective masks may be in principle in reducing exhaled particles from infectious persons. In practice mask mandates don’t SEEM to have made much difference on death rates for the reasons given above AND because people do not, and can not wear them most of the time–which is when the infection transmission actually occurs. Also, as a society we may view viruses as a natural inevitable risk and require isolation/avoidance to be the responsibility of the individual (which tends to be my position). ”

“The number of people in the U.S. mortally threatened (ie needing hospitalization) of covid is about 4 in 1000 per year. The number of Covid-19 induced deaths is about half of that…hardly an existential crisis warranting the egregious devastation of an economy , personal finances, private businesses, education, and the social health and happiness of entire societies [, and added trillions of government debt-mdm]”

  • This is great news – seriously. The more the Left beclowns itself, the faster it will implode. Banning people no one has heard of or cares about works because no one has heard of them or cares. Banning people such as this gets noticed and excrement starts hitting impeller blades.

It’s a really, really big impeller, so it will still be a while before the effects are noticed, but this is a great step in the right (see what I did there?) direction.

  • … as well as at the CDC, all of whom are apparently no longer interested in a robust and honest discussion about COVID.

They, and their bosses at the White House and in Congress, know that a robust and honest discussion will deny them the ability to posture as The Heroes who Beat COVID, and from that pedestal demand our submission to them in all areas, as the Best and Brightest among us.

They care not one whit about actually beating COVID, nor do they care about the collateral damage they cause by parading around like masked bulls in our china shops in their willful ignorance. As always, it’s all about the narrative of The Pedestaled Elite – and their refusal to listen to Hippocrates and “first, do no harm.”

“Democrats Just Went Full Fascist, Produce List Demanding Private Records Of Trump Supporters”

If the left can demonized their poster boy (Trump) they can, and will, do it to anyone!!!!!!

  • Alton

Question:. They Impeached Trump 45 for a phone call…….
Now after Great Joe’s day in Afghanistan
Will they Impeach the Orange Man,
    Again ???

  • Max

Wow Wayne, McCarthyism on steroids… going after conservatives the way Hitler went after the communist after the burning of the Reichstag.
Do you think it will work if Trump just ignores them the way Hillary ignored the request for her private server and emails that had public government business out of sight to prevent oversight?
Trump said he would put her in prison, but did just the opposite exonerating her and let her keep her money from the Russians for selling of nuclear material. How does this happen?
Trump was accused of everything the Democrats were actually doing, and there’s evidence for this. And yet he still surrounded himself with a very deep state that he claimed he wanted to drain.
This long list of wanting private communications as a smokescreen for routing out all those Secret whistleblowers working inside the Democrat party to make them and there evidence disappear… Arkanside.

The most they can hope for from this list is clearing the way for the socialists to remove the capitalist from this country. Unbridled power which will end up fighting amongst each other in the same way Muslim different orders fight each other. There is no honor among thieves.

I’ve been hearing that since the beginning of Obama, but the Left only grows bolder, gains power, and imposes its will upon us all, right down to locking us in our homes and punishing us when we refuse to agree with their imaginary reality.

Politics and science do not mix. I just hope we dont all end up boiled frogs, as it seems that is all were good for…….Cheers Bob …

The left does not know that it has beclowned itself. This is why it hasn’t imploded yet. We have a few leftists who comment here often, yet they have no idea that they are constantly and consistently wrong. They cannot imagine the possibility that they are wrong. If we point out that leftist policies have failed every time they are imposed, leftists declare that the failure is because leftism was imposed in the wrong place, by the wrong people, or was not implemented in the right way.

Right-wing policies have always worked, but these policies are based not upon a central controlling power but upon distributed power by individuals. Adam Smith pointed out that this is how economics works, but leftists continue to insist that economics is better when controlled by the state.

Leftists want that central control, because they never grew up enough to take care of themselves. They either need a mommy and daddy to care for them or they want to be that mommy or daddy, controlling everyone so that they don’t make the “wrong” decisions, meaning decisions that they would not have made. Their followers are too afraid that they, the followers, will make the wrong decision, so they are willing to hand over their rights and power (and everyone else’s, too) to their ersatz parents.

Thus, the Left will never implode, unless those who don’t become adult enough to care for themselves finally do grow up.

There’s some irony in there, somewhere. And a lot of truth.
