Unfortunately, this is very short and it’s not letting me cut-n-paste anything, but there are a few factoids therein that are gems.

From the article: “By correctly accounting for the changes in satellite measurement times, the new satellite data are in better agreement with the surface data.”

Please tell me that this is not the same surface data that they have been fudging — er — modifying because they consider it to be too unreliable to use unedited.

By the time these climate scientists are done with it, none of the temperature data that they have ever collected will be able to be considered reliable.

Are they only adjusting temperature data, or are they adjusting data that are collected for other factors in order to account for time of day it was collected? For instance, are fog or cloud coverage data being modified?

“‘We are close to the tipping point where global warming becomes irreversible,’ Hawking told BBC News. ‘Trump’s action [pulling out of the Paris agreement] could push the Earth over the brink, to become like Venus, with a temperature of 250 degrees, and raining sulphuric acid.’”

Goodness gracious. Hawking says that we are close to the tipping point. Again. We have crossed so many tipping points that I have lost count. Now the famous non-climate scientist is throwing his inexpertise into the fray with a warning about yet another tipping point warning. This time, not only is man putting CO2 into the atmosphere, but we are also putting sulfur into the atmosphere.

What was Hawking’s scientific evidence for the nearness of this newly projected tipping point?

“‘By denying the evidence for climate change, and pulling out of the Paris Climate Agreement, Donald Trump will cause avoidable environmental damage to our beautiful planet, endangering the natural world, for us and our children,’ Hawking said.”

His evidence is merely a denial that the Earth is warming after having suffered through the Little Ice Age.

Well, if the end of the last glacial period didn’t push us over a tipping point toward our fate as Venus-Mark-2, then the end of the Little Ice Age is unlikely to push us into a climate of “raining sulphuric acid.”

My days of respecting Hawking are certainly coming to a middle, now that he makes baseless, emotional, unscientific claims that are backed up by nothing and are made in areas that he clearly knows little or nothing. Hawking should stick to theoretical physics, not real-world fear mongering. He is better at it.

Less than 1 percent of people drive us forward, but depend on the rest to provide support.

Santer recently published a paper saying that there is no global warming. That all the models are totally wrong in that they have assumed huge reinforcing effects from CO2 emissions, that never materialized. Since he has been the leading climate panic guy, it seems to have raised some eye brows. The tide is changing. Trump has made it politically possible to tell the truth. And the data is so very bad now that even the most ardent doomsday guys must do something now to not go down in history as the worst fake science fraud criminals ever.
