Not everyone accepts anything the health professionals tell them. As Robert noted, there are many people who no longer accept any vaccines anymore. Our healthcare community has lost its credibility among too large of a portion of our population. This is a problem, because if we cannot trust our doctors, who can we trust?

In this instance, the performance of the masking ritual also served to distinguish between the faithful sheep and the infidel goats, identifying all those unfaithful Americans who needed to be cast into the pit. In this sense, it was never about “the science,” but how a caricature of science might best be deployed in the furtherance of a totalitarian state religion.

To anyone who has listened to NPR over the last several years, the unctuous, reverential voice in which COVID has always been addressed — speaking in the hushed tones of the church sanctuary — is a dead giveaway as to how the left understands this phenomenon and how they have used it for their own ends. And, no, despite all of the emerging scientific data — yet more “disinformation” — they have wavered not a jot nor a title from their belief. Yesterday, in fact, I heard a PSA (public service announcement) on a “conservative” radio station once again urging older people like myself to get the Holy Vax.

It is worse than that. Studies over the decades have not been able to confirm that surgical masks even perform their primary function: reduce post-surgical infections — and they do not prevent them, there are still far too many cases of post-surgical infections. Although there are more studies that show fewer post-surgical infections, none of them has been statistically significant, and a couple of studies have shown an increase in post-surgical infections — again, not statistically significant. These are the masks being used by the professionals, who make sure that they are kept sterile and sanitary.

Just imagine the havoc if we had huge numbers of amateurs pretend to correctly use masks — or worse use them every day for hours and hours after storing them in their unsanitary purses or pockets.

This rejection by the rest of society is why the adults in the story were so willing to go along with the obviously bogus claim that the shivering emperor had clothes. This story has been told for many generations just so that when something like Wuhan flu came along, we would already have learned the lesson and would reject the bogus claims by our authorities. Instead, fear of rejection, losing jobs, being spurned or shunned by clubs and associations, or losing friends has prevented all too many people from admitting the painfully obvious and going along with the fearful leaders and their hand-picked “experts.” Our forefathers had prepared us for this moment, and we flubbed it.

A great majority failed to learn the story’s lesson and went along with the authorities and the rest of the crowd. No one listened to the realists and even rejected them in terrible and terrifying ways. It was viscous and ugly.

Then again, our governing ruling body has also failed to learn the lesson of the boy who cried wolf.

What has happened is that the adults who were too fearful to announce that the emperor had no clothes have heard too many times that the Wuhan flu shots will do what they obviously have failed to do. They do not prevent infection and may even promote infection, and they do nothing to prevent the spread of Wuhan flu, and people know it even though they are obeying the stupid directives and mandates imposed by the “emperor” and his minions. The authorities continue to call “jab, jab!” Most people no longer pay attention.

Such idiocy would not have mattered except that Lysenko became a favorite of Stalin and his communist government and was given by them dictatorial powers. Not only did Lysenko and the Soviet government forbid any opposition — arresting and destroying any scientist who dissented — Lysenko used his powers to force his agricultural ideas on the nation. The result: millions died from famine.

That is stupid, and even more irrational than wearing a mask by yourself, in the car. I have never been able to figure that one out. Are you protecting yourself from . . . yourself?

During the scamdemic [not my word, but I like it], I noted which businesses, including a national supermarket chain, refused to enforce, and which ones were a little bit too enthusiastic. Now, I take my custom to those businesses that made an attempt at rationality, even if it is out my way.
