One of my confused friends sends me just this this morning, you know, for dramatic effect:

https://www.biologicaldiversity.org/programs/biodiversity/elements_of_biodiversity/extinction_crisis/

MY response.

First the obvious, if indeed this is the 6th extinction event, logic would indicate that there were 5 previous extinction events.

And while the 6th event, in process today, may indeed be caused by human activity, other than end ALL human activity on planet earth, what do you propose?

I have stated that there is certainly validity to the pollution issue and our government needs to recognize effective methods of clearing plastics and other pollutants from the environment. I even propose that the Trump administration is missing a political opportunity by not adopting the plastics issue into their platform just as a smart political play. The plastics issue is a visceral issue and I see people of all political positions shunning specifically plastic bags every day. Not to mention that it would be a rational action to take for the environment.

And we also might look at this issue in a more purely cold and logical manner. Humans are a function of the universe and a function of planet earth and if humans come to express themselves in such a irrational long term manner then that is one of the eventuality potentials that humans have. I however suspect that there will be incentives created through the capitalist model and technology that will incentivize the effective cleaning of our planet to a reasonable point.

However the logic of the "Climate Justice Warriors" is just not reasonable, all it would ever lead to is Socialism and big governemnt just like China or similar Glaobalist organization that would essentially own the people of the world and NO ONE would dare act outside of their proscribed and well thought out parameters of behavior that their over lords thought reasonable. In other words a world of slavery and fear. Look into the Chinese "Social rating system", that will give you an idea of where that kind of model would lead.

The world is not a "safe" place to live.
