The People of Baltimore are not quite as bad as those of Ferguson. At least in Baltimore, there is the mother who pulled her child out of the protest and boxed his ears, the war veteran who tried to get the rioters to stop, and the city councilman who told the parents of Baltimore that they need to teach their children right from wrong. Despite the words of the mayor, there were people in Baltimore telling their fellow citizens that destruction was not the way to solve their problems.

If the rest of the city follows their lead and chooses a path different than the one the mayor supported, Baltimore may have a chance to recover and become prosperous.

Attached is a cogent article by Baltimore native and blogger Matt Walsh. Far too long to excerpt all the good quotes but worth the read.

"But either way, the fact remains that Michael Brown, Eric Garner, and Freddie Gray were not law abiding, helpful, constructive members of society. That doesn’t mean they deserved to die, but it does mean they put themselves in a category of people who are more likely to be involved in violent interactions with cops. And that category isn’t “black people” — it’s “criminals.” "
