It has always been very clumsy if you ask me that we define light both as wave and a particle this discovery if true might let us come up with a better definition. However more than that I see the sociology of science at work. The resistance to change, attack that which is different, I like many others have questions but the over reaction in any case seems to hostile than skeptical, then again if I was a theoretical physicist in say the increasing unlikely area like string theory I would be fighting to discredit because my job depends on it.

So much of why the gobal warming the debate isn’t “Settled science” can be seen here, and people looking out for there jobs for than knowledge and discovery. Nothing is infallible not even science.

Before we throw Einstein (and causality) under the bus, I think we need to get this confirmed by other experimenters using other equipment. There may be a system error involved that they just haven’t found yet.

something seems wrong here . when i saw these headlines i said to myself no way , then i said at least it cant be possible for any information to have travelled FTL . but if they “shoot” the neutrinos and pick them up with detectors that means it could send information right? i cant wait to see what happens with this
