They could have told us the truth and said they were only good for at best 6 months. More than likely only 3.
They could have told us that only the most vulnerable among the populous were truly at risk., the old and the sick.
They could have admitted that a natural immunity would be the best defense. To treat yourself and those around you like you had a normal flu. Just be careful around the susceptible and take two weeks off from work once not every time you test positive.

But they did use it to attack Trump and rally their idiot followers. To instill fear in those who do not think for themselves.

As to what, exactly, is causing these failures, I have no idea, but it’s not a new thing.

Was it the actual mRNA in the shot or was it some new carrier or dilutent or the “growth” medium.

At the moment, very few people in the Republican wing of the Uniparty are saying very much about this, and the Democrats are still in
absolute denial. (The vaccinations, sacraments in their secular religion, seem to be a hill that they are *literally* willing to die on.) On the other hand, the Covid debacle is a major element of Robert F. Kennedy’s insurgent campaign, and this, too, is helping to get the word out.

The real question is if — or when — Donald Trump will be able to reach some accommodation with this emerging reality and admit that
“mistakes were made” under his watch. A debate with RFK, Jr., should it happen, might be highly informative in this respect. At any rate, it would be enormously refreshing to hear a politician admit that “yes, I made a mistake,” but it is probably not in The Donald’s
nature to do this. Another muddle, then, for the befuddled electorate to sort through.

A larger question, perhaps — lacking such a candid admission of responsibility by our leaders — is how we will go on as a nation with this uncomfortable awareness. The is a lot here to be learnt, assimilated, and worked through, and without some kind of resolution, resentments are likely to fester. But who can / will take a leadership role in expiating this guilt? Cursory research on the Internet reveals that Abraham Lincoln, or even FDR, is no longer available for such a task.

When I started getting pushed to get the shot, I refused, stating I had natural immunity. I’d show the paper from the hospital. Then I got told to get the shot. Why? I would ask. To keep from getting Covid, I’d be told.

But I’ve already had Covid and already have the immunity the shot is supposed to grant me. Doesn’t matter. We’ve been told you need to get the shot.

At one point, after being told to just get the shot to get along, I resorted to the old saw about “If everyone you know is jumping off a cliff would you do it because of that.” Said my mother had told me that when I was eight and I’d bet your mother had told you the same thing at that age. I again stated that unless they could explain why the shot was better than natural immunity, I would not be getting the shot.

Then they told me if I didn’t get the shot they would fire me. I told them to go ahead.

They backed down.

At no point did I ask for a religious exemption. I simply refused because the science did not back my getting the shot. Gave them no wiggle room.

An adult son and the entire department of engineers who worked for him also refused to get the shot. They refused, even though threatened with termination. His company backed down, too.
