You mean it looks like all of the legacy suits from the now-antique era of space endeavor you are still so enamored of. I don’t think there is any law of nature requiring people in spacesuits to look like the Michelin Man or the Stay-Puft Marshmallow Man.

The old Soviet design was a bit like long johns with a flap.

That design inspired the idea of suit-ports, where astronauts could back into airlock socket.

Lunar and Martian dirt stays outside.

Now I might have something clamshell over it so as to limit photo degradation…damage from rocks churned about by landing/ascent thrusters.

NASA then issued contracts to private companies to do it. Axiom’s progress here is an example of private enterprise getting it done.

What ever happened to that project?
