The pilot’s estates should be sued along with whoever gave them their ATPL’s. They get the big bucks to know what they are doing and take the correct actions in emergencies. They weren’t competent and didn’t.

In aircraft with electric elevator trim there is always a switch or circuit breaker to disable it instantly in the event of a runaway.
The third worlders who crashed didn’t know how to disable the electric trim, which is a memory item. The lesson is that any trim runaway would have killed them even if not MCAS.
