In reply to <a href="https://behindtheblack.com/behind-the-black/points-of-information/california-orders-churches-to-fund-abortions/#comment-423212">Cotour</a>.

This is not an example of the federal government being fascist, it is an example of California's fascist government expanding its tentacled stranglehold on its people. The California government has been working against the will of the people at least since Proposition 13, when they responded to the demand that waste be reduced not by reducing waste but by reducing services. This is especially true in the educational service market.

Before Prop. 13, California was ranked in the upper 5 states in terms of education, now it is in the lowest 5 (ranked 49th, last I heard). Library hours, police and fire protection were reduced, and the state now confiscates property taxes from the counties and redistributes the funds as it sees fit, all as a reaction to Prop. 13.

Oh, and the people here think that the state is well run, because it has claimed that it has finally balanced its budget, this year. Of course, the state raised taxes to balance the budget (and a new gas tax is on the way). But there are those in Detroit who think that city is also well run.

The state determines which light bulbs and toilets we may buy, and it is banning plastic bags at stores and in a couple of months even paper bags may no longer be offered for free -- bring your own.

Water is being diverted from farmland to prevent bait-fish from dying in the California Aqueduct pumps (a problem that was never a problem for four or five decades but the fish seem to have suddenly discovered the pumps, apparently nets are beyond the government's comprehension level).

Oh, and did I mention that Cap and Trade is about to raise the cost of everything made in this state?

The state over-regulates everything else, now it wants to regulate everyone's beliefs, despite what the majority thinks (majority even in this navy-blue state).

The federal government, on the other hand, has practically declared that we give up our religious rights when we buy into a business or go into business (family-owned businesses being almost the only exception), thanks to the Supreme Court's decision on Obamacare.

Obamacare and healthcare in general is being used to violate virtually all of our rights (including the right to a tasty and filling meal at school), and the Supreme Court is failing to reinstate these natural rights. The SCOTUS has joined in on the tyranny that is the US government.

But then again, when we donate to campaigns, these days, small groups will make sure that our bosses drum us out of our jobs, or will boycott our companies, or will sue to force us to comply or even to participate with their own, fascistic wishes, thus it is difficult to counter the fascism.

I could go on and on, but I am getting angry on this topic (which can result in inappropriate post etiquette).

It is up to us to protect our rights, because no one else will, even if we, ourselves, have to pull over law-breaking police officers (reference: http://behindtheblack.com/behind-the-black/points-of-information/a-citizen-pulls-over-a-cop-and-issues-him-a-warning/ ).
