Two of the top five things you don’t want to hear on an airplane in one flight. Nice to see that everyone worked to expectations: i.e. did their job in a professional manner. I do think The Mail’s noting of the co-pilot’s sex in the lead bullets was a cheap way to put eyes on content.

]]> By: joe https://behindtheblack.com/behind-the-black/points-of-information/can-anyone-on-board-fly-an-airplane/#comment-170155 Wed, 04 Jun 2014 04:03:06 +0000 http://behindtheblack.com/?p=28747#comment-170155 Yes this is a feel good story, I have no doubt that the first officer could have landed the aircraft by herself, I think that with the captain having a heart attack, a lot of confusion and emotion entered the flight deck, the lady did the correct thing by putting another pilot in a seat to help with the radio and the check lists, it was a definite plus that this military pilot had landed at this airport, the news media needed to put this into their initial story.
