I think we get great scientific and bang for the buck when NASA does planetary robotic science. Not to mention the boost in something we’ve been woefully lacking in recent years – national pride.

NASA, or whatever program/agency is favored by an individual, only gets the money it deserves from tax revenues. Deficits aren’t due to any one thing and getting rid of them should never come at the expense of an agency or program favored by our example individual, which bears a striking resemblance to everyone.
