Congresscritters who think that ridicule of them is a threat against them, or think that such teasing is intimidation, are too thin skinned to be politicians. To seriously think that people using their right of free speech should be prosecuted is to have no understanding of the fundamental civics of this country — it is to be anti-American. To have even one such a person in Congress is a serious threat to the fundamental nature of this country.

Making fun of Congress, especially its least smart members, is a long standing American past time. Naturally, the least smart would not like being made fun of — especially when their own words make them such easy targets.

Maybe the next thing that she will consider “a disgrace and there is no need for anyone to think that is unacceptable” is ridicule of the president of the United States. Why do I think she will not suggest such a thing until the next time a Democrat in office?

I am not disagreeing with you, but it is clear to me the Congress is on the road to take some action because of the extreme abuse of power / monopoly. It is inevitable, unless the Alphabet and Facebook Billionaires just buy everyone and take over America and the world. And that would fit perfectly into their agenda.

This technology is something never before seen nor dealt with and the rules that dictated their control in the past may well not exactly apply today because they will have technological ways around them using said technology.

Yes, apply or remove the simple incentives and constraints proscribed by the Constitution and our legal system.

Alphabet (YouTube, et al) operates as common carrier’s, but they are Publisher’s. Remove their government-granted exemption and the only way they can control content is writing huge checks when they get sued.

This technology is in the realm of the unknown, never before seen and I am certain it is not fully understood how it will be done and / or how they will work around it. Freely expression / communicating I.E. Free speech is one of the foundation tenets of the Constitution, these private companies threaten that in the name of THEIR interpretation of what should be (And what should not be).

But one thing that can be agreed on, they have gone too far, they are infested with millennial Leftist / utopians and they are in a rush to cement their advantage before any of this can be dealt with. And then what?

Something on the order of an anti trust case is coming their way. How that will be formulated I am not certain, but coming it is. I would prefer the least and smallest dose, but once you are pushed to the point of action, there will be action.

Google and Facebook will soon have to be dealt with in anti trust terms because they are now too powerful and are openly endeavoring to pick and choose political winners and losers and they endeavor to deny equal access to who they find offensive to their political cause.

This must not be allowed to be. Now do you think that Fredrica will be able to understand all of that in the context of our Constitution and our legal system? Does anyone think that she knows the definition of the word “Context” in the previous sentence?

Its a disgrace when a member of Congress proposes the blanket suspending of free speech based on their subjective determination about what is offensive or “disgraceful”. Does this woman believe that upon being politically empowered that politicos in Congress are elevated to to a royal status? (She actually does believe that as disturbing as it is)

This kind of ignorance is what some people in some places in our country see fit to empower, and then re-empower over and over again. And that would include this ignorant woman, Auntie Maxine, and possibly AOC in the future to name only three in a now growing list of just truly ignorant individuals. And amazingly the majority of these ignorant people seem to be mostly newly empowered women. Is this what the women of America have been waiting for?
