It’s sobering to think of the even more classified info we still haven’t heard.

Unknown if Clancy has some kind of view into the future but some items he has included in his novels, later (with some modification) ended up occurring.

If this is not a wake-up call, read: “Debt of Honor (1994)”, as I am convinced Osama bin Laden may have done just that, which possibly put this idea into his playbook.

Are there more lost nukes around for them to look for? I fear there are some here and there in the former Soviet union. I suppose that the heavy metals would be preserved and that what’s left of the complicated detonation mechanism could be very helpful for an aspiring nuclear terror government trying to reconstruct it. It is pretty scandalous that this thing has been available for anyone for so many decades (if this story is true at all).

It was dropped from B-36B 44-92075 after multiple engine failures doomed the plane. According to my reading the bomb was not armed with nuclear material.
