From the linked article.

“About one minute and 28 seconds into flight, engine No. 1 suffered a dramatic malfunction of some sort, triggering a bright flash in the exhaust plume and what appeared to be debris falling away in the rocket's wake”

I am glad the vehicle survived, but for any other booster this would mean a stand down while an investigation is made into the cause of the anomaly.

“For the CRS-1 mission, the Dragon capsule is loaded with 882 pounds of hardware, supplies and equipment”

As per previous discussions of efficiency this is far below the claimed Up Mass capability of the Dragon and even the Up Mass called for by the contract. Any idea why?
