I agree with Bob on this. I Hate the entire notion of a "Hate Crime" (Does that make me a hater? LOL )

I saw this first hand in Police work, if we had any high-profile crime under investigation we would often get a call from some eager-beaver Federal Attorney or "Civil Rights" advocate wanting to know if the suspect had made any statements before, during, or after the commission of the crime, that could be construed as a "Hate Speech".

I always asked if it mattered what they were thinking or saying while they were hurting someone. And the answer was always "Yes".

To me the whole Hate Crime issue has always been a way to 1. Pander to Special Interest Groups 2. Attempt to Explain or Rationalize Evil behaviour by people who don't believe Evil exists, and 3. Another way to control other people....

It is a very dangerous path to follow when a persons "thoughts" become more important than their actions.

There are real hate crimes and there are fake hate crime reports, just like other crimes . Who is behind this site? I had a quick look at the site but could see no information on who is compiling this list. How can you be sure that this is a fair and independent listing of all such reports? To draw any conclusions on distribution of crimes you have to be sure that this is a fair and unbiased listing. I am not saying it isn't a fair listing but how do we know whether or not it is?
