Google employees (!) force the company to drop sponsorship of queer event
Is free speech and debate finally possible at Google?
Pushback? It appears that a petition signed by hundreds of Google employees has compelled the company to drop sponsorship of a queer drag queen event in San Francisco because the performer’s “provocative and inflammatory artistry is considered a direct affront to the religion, beliefs and sensitivities of Christians.”
The authors also demanded an apology from the organizers, saying they had complained to Google’s HR department – People Operations – alleging the venue violated the company’s event guidelines regarding sexually explicit activity.
When I saw this article earlier today my jaw dropped, for two reasons. First, it is astonishing that such a petition was put together by Google employees, considering that most are very leftist and strongly support the queer agenda, to the point of causing the firing of one software manager because he expressed publicly some reservations about it. You would think the mob mentality that dominates this corporate culture would cause its employees to keep quiet about their opposition to such sponsorship.
Yet, these employees put together a petition, and got hundreds to sign it. Moreover, it appears those employees faced little pushback from the leftist mob that has previously run Google.
Second, it is astonishing that Google followed through. Leftist corporations like Google have for years only followed their “event guidelines” when the event was conservative and only vaguely violated those guidelines. Leftist and queer events have for years been given a free pass. Drag queens could strip naked in front of little kids and Google would shrug and say its sponsorship was simply to promote free expression and to oppose discrimination against all “genders.”
Yet, Google canceled the sponsorship, even though “Google’s initial internal advert for the ‘Pride and Drag Show’ – which has since been removed – presented it as the final act to ‘wrap up this amazing month'”.
It would seem that the growing backlash against the queer agenda — including its eager willingness to go after children — might have gained so much steam that even in leftist havens like Google, it has become unacceptable. If so, this is possibly the best news we have in this culture war in years.
At the same time, it would be a mistake to put too much into this story. While Google withdrew its sponsorship from this particular event and performer, it also “offered an alternative social gathering at its offices instead. Google spokesperson Chris Pappas told CNBC the internal team responsible for planning the drag performance failed to put it through the company’s ‘standard events process.”
In other words, the company has not abandoned its support of the queer agenda, only this particular event and this particular performer, for what it is claiming are merely bureaucratic reasons.
The actions of Google’s employees here are significant, however. The petition and its signatories are telling us that debating this subject within this corporate culture is now possible. Minds have suddenly been opened to the possibility that the queer agenda is not a human-rights campaign, but a back-door method to make legitimate pedophilia and mental illness.
As I said, this is possibly the best news we have in this culture war in years. Some closed minds have finally opened. Debate might finally be possible.
Keep those fingers and toes crossed that this might finally be true.
On Christmas Eve 1968 three Americans became the first humans to visit another world. What they did to celebrate was unexpected and profound, and will be remembered throughout all human history. Genesis: the Story of Apollo 8, Robert Zimmerman's classic history of humanity's first journey to another world, tells that story, and it is now available as both an ebook and an audiobook, both with a foreword by Valerie Anders and a new introduction by Robert Zimmerman.
The print edition can be purchased at Amazon. from any other book seller, or direct from my ebook publisher, ebookit.
The ebook is available everywhere for $5.99 (before discount) at amazon, or direct from my ebook publisher, ebookit. If you buy it from ebookit you don't support the big tech companies and the author gets a bigger cut much sooner.
The audiobook is also available at all these vendors, and is also free with a 30-day trial membership to Audible.
"Not simply about one mission, [Genesis] is also the history of America's quest for the moon... Zimmerman has done a masterful job of tying disparate events together into a solid account of one of America's greatest human triumphs."--San Antonio Express-News

Breaking news from The Babylon Bee (“Fake News You Can Trust”)
“Pedophile Jailed For Flashing Kids At Playground Kicking Himself For Not Doing It At Pride Parade Instead”

Back in the days when the Brazilians won the World Cup, they were paraded through the streets of San Francisco and there were a number of people wearing brightly colored paint and not much else. The Bay to Breakers race has had nude competitors for at least three decades. Many outdoor festivals have pretty risqué activity. I think what might have changed, if anything, is the direct assault upon the very young children. For the few leftist with kids, perhaps they prefer to raise their own kids vs having the radical left shaping their kids future. If so, this would be a small, but significant sign.

“growing backlash against the queer agenda ”
I don’t think it’s a backlash against queer agenda. No-one is against Gays or Lesbians really. It’s against..well as Canada has put it 2STNBGC. (two-spirit, transgender, non-binary and other gender-diverse children and youth) Yep that is one of the new acronym. If you notice, GL have distanced themselves from it. I mean it was this 2SLGBTQQIA+
But what do I know, I’m straight and white so it’s all my fault.

We will have to see how well attended this alternative social gathering turns out to be. Google may not find much encouragement to continue promoting these events.
