They aren’t sure how, but they believe it. So every piece of software has to involve “AI”, no matter how out of place.

The other day I heard that a program I worked on 20 years ago is being retired, to be replaced with a package that promises “AI”. The 20-year-old program already includes a type of software that was once touted as “AI” — a rules engine. I hadn’t the heart to tell them, but I suspect that’s what its replacement will have, too.
