There’s currently a 6 month limit on ISS duration stays, and they’ve recently been talking about bringing it down 4 months or even 3 months.

Bone loss is the primary concern, as you know. They would need to put an artificial gravity system up to do a one year or more mock mission. And it’s most likely not enough for the astronauts just to sleep in there.. they’ll need to spend most of the year in there. Zero-g exposure needs to be rare.
