MTLR: I obviously don’t know your situation, but based on your comment, I would fight, and fight hard. Losing 50K in annual income gives you plenty of cash to hire lawyers. I would start calling every lawyer listed on the linked website in your state. Find one that will help, and then take the action to instigate a lawsuit. Make them fire you rather than just quitting, and then sue them. You might actually win, and then not lose the career you have built up.

More important, you will make these thugs rethink their thuggish behavior.

I also hear you about rationalizations. I am in fact poised on deciding whether to take another job that will cost me close to 50k in pay. I have been struggling with it because it not only the money but having to trash a career it took me a long time to build. But if I am honest, I knew the writing was on the wall at least 2 years ago and did not make a move.

If I thought I could find a lawyer/firm I could trust, I might try to fight it out, but I don’t trust much of anyone nowadays, frankly. My cynicism seems to have no bottom as events unfold.

MTLR: Though I sympathize greatly with your situation (as I noted in my post, for the past year and a half I have been denied much of my healthcare because I won’t wear a mask), your post sounds too much like a rationalization for not fighting.

In your situation, I would quit. Period. Nor am I making that up, as I have done this repeatedly in my life. As I was wisely told by an older fellow worker when I was 19, “There’s always more work.” And if you can’t find a job you create one.

And even if you don’t quit, you sure can make life uncomfortable for the Nazis in your company.

Sorry to be a downer first time posting here, but I have my doubts as to who is REALLY going to fight this in court, and what their chances are. A law firm is going to ask you to pay them 2k minimum to ‘investigate your case’ and see if it has merit. They might go after a small time firm, but I don’t see them assaulting the larger companies.

If I had my goddamn choice, if my spouse had listened to me last year, I would already be on a mountain somewhere awaiting the inevitable crash and opportunity to pick up the pieces should something survive.

My shame is the company I worked for has been helping push this and other [deleted] and I just took the cash thinking it could not possibly get worse and it did. But who could blame me for not even conceiving the Bizarro world we find ourselves in?

I am currently trying to find work in a more reputable and less woke place, but good like finding one that also won’t buckle under Herr Biden’s mandates.

I wouldn’t focus so much on the medical side. While important (and a huge cash cow for some), it’s more like a door opener for something else.

In some countries faster than others, all will eventually use a digital health pass to document one’s health/vaccination status. You need this pass to participate in most societal activities and travel between countries.

Your civil rights are coupled to your vaccination status; it starts with obvious restrictions like travel, shopping, events, assembly, and will later be expanded to your career or business, perhaps property ownership, insurance and so on. Once implemented, it can be extended to other “important societal issues” like climate change (your individual carbon footprint), healthy living, racial justice, and other nanny state stuff. Eventually a Chinese-inspired “social credit system” is implemented. Couple that with a digital currency, and almost all your (legal) activities are easily (that’s the innovation here) monitored and can be (individually) restricted: who you talk to or visit, what you purchase, what information you share or receive, where you travel etc.

Your status of being vaccinated is limited, it takes booster/refresher shots every 6–9 months, otherwise you’re formally unvaccinated again and your rights are restricted to that lower caste level.

Your rights can be selectively restricted even if you’re vaccinated because of an “emergency,” be it a pandemic or climate or other crisis. The decision of having an emergency and what responses that triggers is made by opaque, unaccountable “expert committees.”

But I don’t want anyone to feel bad after reading my post. Let me end with a silly joke. I couldn’t figure out why the baseball kept getting larger. Then it hit me.

If the government can force you to take a vaccine what else can they force you to do medically? At what point is ‘for the community good’ limited.
Is it for the community good to force everyone to take all the vaccines that are available now and in the future?
How about forced sterilization for those with genetic defects?
How about when someone retires we stop giving them medical treatment? They are retired so they are no longer contributing to the community and are just taking medical care that could be better used on the younger more productive.

I know its not possible to eradicate any virus totally.
But what if we get to 100% vaccinated in the USA will we stop allowing people to come into this nation? How can we trust they are also vaccinated?
