Since many asteroids are thought to consist of rubble, instead of being solid rock, then perhaps these asteroids have their own debris fields associated with them.

Although I mess up my time zones (so I stopped calling my friends in Europe), by my calculation, the 18:02 UT closest approach corresponds with Sunday noon in Nicaragua, so the meteorite would have landed about half a day ahead of the asteroid’s passage.
