Boomers have been alive much longer and maintaining a relationship over long periods of time can be extremely difficult. Over long periods of time people change, love fades, sickness and disability can occur, finances can change. Just look at the divorce rate for disabled individuals as an example.

Thus, the ones getting married have a more “wholesome” view of it and are able to give a deeper commitment.

One of my nephews (aboriginal has over six kids by as many mothers. The ones who are worst equipped to rear kids are the ones having the most. I will not go into further details of my nieces choices, but optimism is not there! Sorry.

So, there is a long way to go for the current society to rebound to something more stable.
