To be fair, history, government , the USC, the “bill of rights”, and many other things that readers of this site take as a given ( in that we understand these things and what they mean…) are NOT taught in public schools, and that is no accident, but rather by design…..

I couldn’t agree more. The problems are so numerous its overwhelming. A way back is implementing the limits spelled out in our Constitution. Sadly, seemingly half the populace interpret our document as a license for unlimited government.

Actually, I would not make that assumption. In fact, the IRS, VA, GAO, DHS scandals were precisely because they didn’t give a damn or were intentionally trying to attack specific Americans for their political beliefs.

And even if they did mean well in some circumstances, we all know where good intentions take us.

Ever hear of “span of control”? The federal government has grown to such a size that control is no longer possible. Liberals would call for more “managers”. I say it is too big and needs to be radically down sized. We’re broke so it will collapse eventually. These are symptoms of its approach. Down sizing is needed so we can keep what is needed. Jettison what is not Constitutionally required.

“Let’s just make a quick list of the alphabet soup of federal agencies that we have discovered in the last few months to be either corrupt, incredibly incompetent, or spendthrifts: FDA, CDC, IRS, VA, HHS, NIH, GAO, DHS, TSA. We can add the State Department for its wonderful work in Benghazi, as well as the Border Patrol for their stellar effort in securing the border. I also know that the management at NASA leaves much to be desired.”

But they all meant well.
