(A 3-bulb system ahead of the HEPA filter.) The effects of UV-C are cumulative, destroy organics at the molecular level, and also induce “photoionization” in DNA.

They survive -30c ( -22 of your F ;-) and a meter+ of snow for months no problems. Since moving here from the temperament UK I have gained an insight into just how tough and ubiquitous life is.

Panspermia seems not so unlikely when you see life thriving in the most harsh of environments.
