I have an idea that they couldn’t have the cargo ship docked at the same time as they were doing an EVA.
But why couldn’t they do the launch and then just “park” the cargo ship a few miles away until they were done working?

Did they think they would need some extra parts and were holding the ship just to make sure they could get them up in time?

Is it time for another docking port to be added to the station?

Does the cargo ship only have enough power for a set amount of time in space and they were afraid that some cargo might overheat of freeze if they delayed docking it?

I just never had a clear answer as to why they delayed the launch in the first place.
