This will boost market share for exactly the people that contributed to the 2012 election funding of the Democratic ticket, without registering their names or the fact that they live outside the US, at exactly the time similar funds are becoming needed for them to win in 2016, if they can at all. Will it do so soon enough for the overseas funding spigot to open again as it did in 2008 and 2012? I haven’t a clue.

Will such funding be as decisive as it was then? Even less of a clue is visible. It *will* turn up the emotional heat, and progressives from Trump to Hillary to Sanders have always benefited from that in the US. To have one of those 3 in the WH is the intent.

It’s even worse— you can’t simply ramp-up/ramp-down production, overnight. It’s part pure “geology” and part infra-structure & having the necessary skilled labor on hand.

Tangent– I think it was McCain that said a few years ago,– “Russia is a Gas-Station, with a Country attached to it.”

This will also have other consequences. As the price of oil has cratered, I’ve wondered how much of that has been through our efforts, as so many of the parties we have a problem with are suffering mightily from low oil prices, notably Russia, Iran, and ISIS.

The way the oil market works, just this announcement will probably lead to higher prices almost instantly.
