This really is a fascinating object. A small rock with a tenuous girdle of dust and ice. I suspect it wouldn’t take much at all to blow the dust and ice clear. The constituents are likely barely in contact; and the ‘skirt’ may be as much as the moon’s feeble gravity can bound.

On the matter of pasta shape analogies, my 16 months working in Milan in the late 1970s causes me to think Atlas looks a lot more tortellini-ish than ravioli-ish, but maybe that’s just me.

I suspect you have to have some weight to either walk or sink. On Atlas you would weigh less than a feather so you would not sink or walk.

We all know that while OUR moon is made of green cheese, all these tiny Saturnian moons are actually giant cereal marshmallows.
