Pushback: Citizens create open Christmas soup kitchen when official food drive bans unjabbed
Spokane: Where some charities think some of the poor should starve
during Christmas, while others step up to provide charity for all.
Pushback against blacklists: When the official annual Christmas soup kitchen in Spokane announced that the homeless and poor would be banned if they didn’t get COVID shots or tested first, a group of local citizens quickly organized an open soup kitchen where no jabs or testing would be required.
The image to the right illustrates the rules for the two competing soup kitchens.
A week before Christmas, in Spokane, WA, the Christmas Bureau food assistance program turned away needy people who could not show proof of Covid-19 vaccination or proof of a negative COVID test no more than 72 hours old.
The Christmas Bureau is an annual holiday assistance program coordinated by Catholic Charities Eastern Washington, Volunteers of America, and the Spokesman-Review. The program is made possible by generous monetary funds and volunteer hours donated by community members and organizations.
In response to the Christmas Bureau’s actions, a group of Christian patriots launched a “No Vaccine Canteen” to feed everyone — regardless of their medical history. [emphasis mine]
I purposely highlight the entities who decided that it was all right to deny charity to some of the poor and homeless during the Christmas season, merely because they hadn’t gotten the government jab. To paraphrase the words of Scrooge, “Maybe these unvaccinated should simply die and decrease the surplus population.”
For those in Spokane with the Christmas season in their hearts, this information should provide guidance next year when these particular organizations come begging for money. It is clear they really don’t have charity in mind, but power and enforcing their will, even onto the most vulnerable.
Instead, Spokane citizens should contact the people who ran the “No-Vaccine Canteen,” who teamed up with an organization called Blessings Under The Bridge, and give them their donations. When they heard about the Christmas Bureau’s decision to turn people away, these people were quickly able to raise $3500 and organize multiple free meal events for the poor.
Below is a video interview with Dan Bell, who helped organize the “No-Vaccine Canteen.” As he says,
It’s important that, especially for the disenfranchised, that there is no discrimination. Anyone whose going to pick and chose which hungry get to eat when there’s food for everyone, I’d ask them to look in the mirror long and hard.
On Christmas Eve 1968 three Americans became the first humans to visit another world. What they did to celebrate was unexpected and profound, and will be remembered throughout all human history. Genesis: the Story of Apollo 8, Robert Zimmerman's classic history of humanity's first journey to another world, tells that story, and it is now available as both an ebook and an audiobook, both with a foreword by Valerie Anders and a new introduction by Robert Zimmerman.
The print edition can be purchased at Amazon. from any other book seller, or direct from my ebook publisher, ebookit.
The ebook is available everywhere for $5.99 (before discount) at amazon, or direct from my ebook publisher, ebookit. If you buy it from ebookit you don't support the big tech companies and the author gets a bigger cut much sooner.
The audiobook is also available at all these vendors, and is also free with a 30-day trial membership to Audible.

That’s the Spirit!
They will have to be arrested.
Watch.
This is exactly like those who were turned away or threatened to not be treated at a hospital if they were no vaxxed.
Which is a total surrender of their Hippocratic oath in the service of a government attempting to coerce free people to take into their body an experimental “Vaccine”.
A “vaccine” which is now as Omicron totally displaces Delta useless.
I am talking to many, many who are all double vaxxed and boosted……………………and they are all right now sick with Covid.
From the real world:
Just spoke with a NYC fireman, one fire house he works has 14 guys out. All double vaxxed and boosted.
A day or two ago, one of John Batchelor’s guests, an MD who has been Batchelor’s “expert commentator” says his professional opinion is that three shots will not be enough and that we will need at least four
I am Catholic but quit supporting Catholic charities a long time ago. This is just another example of why I stopped.
Good job by the no vaccine canteen.
Just some background information from a local about the Spokesman-Review, we call it the Socialist-Review. That newspaper and the family who owns it, has a very checkered history. I would not even line a bird cage with that paper.
Col Beausabre, interesting because I just saw this story saying scientists are coming around to the notion that too many Covid boosters could damage the immune system. Interesting that lots of pushback against the tests, quarantine period and now the vaccine itself are starting to come out. I will copy the link, but, unfortunately it is behind a pay wall.

No paywall:
Antibody-Dependent Enhancement:
Antibody-dependent enhancement (ADE), sometimes less precisely called immune enhancement or disease enhancement, is a phenomenon in which binding of a virus to suboptimal antibodies enhances its entry into host cells, followed by its replication. The suboptimal antibodies can result from natural infection or from vaccination. ADE may cause enhanced respiratory disease and acute lung injury after respiratory virus infection (ERD) with symptoms of monocytic infiltration and an excess of eosinophils in respiratory tract.
ADE along with type 2 T helper cell-dependent mechanisms may contribute to a development of the vaccine associated disease enhancement (VADE), which is not limited to respiratory disease. Some vaccine candidates that targeted coronaviruses, RSV virus and Dengue virus elicited VADE, and were terminated from further development or became approved for use only for patients who had those viruses before.
Contour – arrested. I’m not so sure. Spokane is not Seattle. I have relatives in WA state. The eastern half, just past the Cascades, would love to separate from the rest of the state. (Western NY too probably) So I doubt the same communist COVID control tricks can be played there. – But we’ll see.
Gregory – I have not been to mass in a few years, since Francis and the several Letters sent to be read as part of the Homily. I walked out on the last one some time ago, not to return. The “voting guide” was another issue that drove me away. This was such a sharp contrast to John Paul.
The corruption of the Church is a deep blow to freedom and the sovereignty of the individual.
Chris:
1. I was really using sarcasm, BUT everything today that is going on is counter intuitive and irrational if it has to do with government, politics, religion and the like.
2. As to your leaving the church:
1. The business of religion of all stripes at every point in human history has been used and abused in the quest of the few in pursuit of control and power over the many.
2. The business of religion of all stripes at every point in human history has acted not always in the interests of what they have purported to represent themselves to be acting in the interests of.
3. The business of religion of all stripes at every point in human history has been used as a ruthless tool in the abuse of power in the furtherance of business and politics.
4. The business of religion of all stripes at every point in human history selectively teaches the exclusion of some.
5. Humanity needs God, spirituality and religion and must be cognizant of their nature as it relates to those subjects and where the business of religion and politics can deliver them.
6. All intellectual structures, entities and concepts of man have the potential to be perverted, corrupted and the power derived there of abused. jgl 4/3/21
There is a distinction to be made between Religion, which is a formalized and codified social control model, no matter which flavor of religion we are talking about, and spirituality or an understanding and a belief that there is something more than related to existence.
Two very different things.
Trump wants everyone to get vaccinated
You keep leaving out the fact that the poor were not required to get jabbed they also had the choice of being tested
Probably you people were also against tge Sent belt mandate and child safety seat mandate
IT IS MY KID AND MY CHOICE
FREEDOM!!!!
Chris,
You are right about Eastern Washington State. We do want to break away and we are tired of Seattle laws imposed on the rest of the state. There have been many campaigns to do it but have failed. The one that made the most progress is the Liberty State campaign. Sometimes the Spokane city council will try to parrot Seattle, but that usually ends in disaster.
The people in Seattle think of us on the east side as barbarians, but they will not let us go. They like our hydro power, but yet want to remove four of the dams. They like the food that we grow, but slap on a lot of regulations and taxes to farm. Washington State would lose three or four seats in the house and would be down to 7 or 8 electoral votes if the eastern part was granted statehood.
Trump wants everyone to get vaccinated.
Where there is risk, there must be choice. Trump respected that … while his opponents, who think they Know Better™, do not.
And there still is risk from the vaccine – how many FDA-APPROVED (not merely EUA) treatments end up as the stars of ambulance-chaser commercials? Compare that to the relatively-low risk to serious injury or death from WuFlu, the vast majority of people face.
You keep leaving out the fact that the poor were not required to get jabbed they also had the choice of being tested
Tell that to the health care workers fired, and the soldiers threatened with discharge … and restaurant patrons in NYC these days. They didn’t get that choice.
You leave out the fact that masks and social distancing were seen by the Powers That Be as optional for protesters and illegals … and that big-box stores could stay open while mom-and-pops had to close … and that hospitals had to endure both financial stress, and watching patients that need their help be kept out in the name of saving beds for WuFlu. Or more recently, the rationing/restriction/suppression of treatments outside those explicitly approved by “established authority” (who are as influenced as much or more by politics as they are by science).
It is the initiation and/or response of our alleged leaders with respect to such conflicts, that erodes the credibility of today’s mandates. Had they struck a balance between liberty and safety, instead of trying to cocoon us AS THEY SAW FIT, they would still have credibility.
Probably you people were also against tge Sent belt mandate and child safety seat mandate.
There is more evidence that those do some good, than masks in a non-clinical setting … or these high-tech flu shots they are now mandating do in the face of a mutating virus. But even though they do some good, mandating them is still an affront to individual liberty. Perhaps we should have re-instituted Prohibition … or banned motorized transport totally … “if it saves one life.”
The total number of WuFlu deaths is approximately equal to the number of deaths from heart disease EACH YEAR. Should we chain our refrigerators shut “if it saves one life.”
IT IS MY KID AND MY CHOICE
FREEDOM!!!!
Yours is the sarcasm of a subject who can’t think outside what his “betters” tell him. Not of a free citizen, that retains the decision-making authority over the lives of themselves and their families.
BTW, I had WuFlu a year ago … and have had both Moderna shots since then, when I was questioning the level of natural immunity more than I do today; I’m not inclined to get any boosters now. I also had treatment for a ticking time bomb in my coronaries delayed by five months, thanks to all the disruptions of the panic-demic.
This situation is complex, to the point that a myopic elite imposing their will upon all is NOT the answer. Hippocrates directed physicians to “first, do no harm”; our public officials need to do likewise.
