In alliance with Iran, Russia is now quickly taking control over Syria, Iraq and the collapsing tyranny of Saudi Arabia. The oil production in the Persian Gulf will soon be dictated from Moscow and Teheran. That is the end result of 25 years of US invasions and defeats across the region. The worst failure in the world history of foreign policy, considering that the now totally victorious enemy is so primitive and inferior in economy, skills, organization. Only their politicians are superior, and totally superior in all respects, and that’s enough to win. Today Russia is the new only superpower in the world. When Paris was struck by terror, their president ignored NATO and went to Putin for a military alliance in the Middle East, because Putin is the only statesman in the world today who can deliver security.

I think that the Russians will focus on space launch infrastructure, such as cosmodromes and launchers. Long-term human spaceflight in LEO is another core competence I’m sure will be high priority to preserve. So I think that this particular launcher stands a good chance to become reality. But all talk about a super heavy launcher, moon missions, Russian space station, interplanetary probes is all BS for the next several years at least. None of that will happen until they can use an extended “Arabic spring” to strangle the Saudi oil wells and get oil up to above $100 again.
