Unless the American public reacts and actually throws the bums out of office, things will continue to worsen. And sadly, I see no signs of an American public outraged enough to throw the bums out. In fact, I see clear indications that the Democrats and their supporters are circling the wagons to maintain their power and position.

2014 will be an interesting election.

The ultimate answer will be found within this simple idea: SUBSIDIARITY.

Our founding fathers understud its meaning and applied it to our Constitution.

Look the word up if you’re not familiar with it, but I trust you already fully understand the word’s fundamental meaning as it has been used effectibely by the world’s oldest human organization for almost 2000 years. It has allowed this organization (warts and all) to survive the fall of the Roman Empire and is older that every nation state and country today. (China is an exception as it is a culture before it was today’s geographic nation.) In reality,though, because ancient China did the opposite of this word’s meaning its success was stiffled by it’s own emmense beaurocracy.

Hint: If it can be done at the lowest level, it should be as that is where the authority, responsibility and power is retained and resides.

The people of a free nation should not fear their government, that being said the IRS strikes fear in everyone who has anything and the government likes it that way. The IRS should be dismantled and ended and we should go to a system based on a scheem that funds government in a more passive way.

Let this water shed event be the begining of the process of first ham stringing the president for the remainder of his “rule” and begin the process in earnest of ridding us of the agency that instills fear in us all.

Good points, Bob. But let’s add another dimension — though forgive me for jumping to a conclusion. It has seemed obvious for some time that the Obama White House, specifically its political apparatus and controlled by chief advisers Valerie Jarrett and David Axelrod, among others, has engaged in an insidious effort to corrupt the entire federal bureaucracy to 1) achieve its social objectives and 2) destroy its political opponents. This is the biggest scandal in American history, and it will take years if not decades to unearth and dismantle entirely, but requiring a level of courage and steadfastness currently unseen in the Republican Party. Who will rise to this difficult task remains unknown, but years from now that person will win the thanks of a grateful nation.

For the last half century, the American people have consistently chosen to give power to the federal government in exchange for a feeling of security plus a lot of easy money payoffs. On a fundamental level, it was not the politicians who did this, as they have only given us what we want. The result is what we have today, a bloated central government that can’t do what it is mandated to do but can and does do a lot to hurt the citizenry.

We will not be able to change this until the American people choose otherwise. We will have to be willing to demand brutal cuts to the federal budget, bringing with those cuts the elimination of many entitlements (I hate that word) and programs that we might love but simply cannot afford. This includes space exploration, as painful as that might be for many of us space cadets to accept.

And if we fail to make that choice, reality will step in and make the choice for us, and in ways far worse for us all.

If the government, in general, was impotent, there would be less temptation to use it, and people would have to deal with each other as equals.
