Your grasp of US history seems to stop in the 1960s or 70s. For the last 20 years there’s been this thing called the Fracking Revolution going on anent domestic energy production. You should read up on it as you quite evidently have not. This isn’t the oil-embargo/gas-lines 70s anymore. The US is energy-independent now. What happens in the Middle East is of relatively little importance here, at least from an energy supply standpoint, compared to the rest of the world.
