More likely this reflects inflation, and where Elon, as a smart business man, is adjusting based on his assessment of how bad it is going to get.

Inflation drives up all prices, because it increases cost of manufacture, not because the companies are trying to gouge consumers, as lefties would have you believe.

Questioner, was that cost or price? SpaceX’s internal cost could be 1/10th that of the competition and they are using the profit to get the cost to 1/100th level.

In any case, lowering the cost by 1/2 to 1/3 is a good start.
