In studies with a range of non-human mammalian species, it has been shown that during sleep, the brain shrinks, allowing larger flows of CSF through ventricles and out to the lymph system, which in turn allows the brain to be washed clean of waste materials during sleep.

Any response to weightlessness that allows the flow of CSF to increase may well be looked at as a *positive* thing for humans. Given that those above studies are done by putting a plexiglass window into the skull for continuous monitoring of the brain, it has *not* been extended to humans. Still, it makes me dubious that this is a net negative for humans in freefall.
