Supreme Court upholds Trump travel ban
In a 5-4 ruling the Supreme Court today upheld President Trump’s constitutional powers to enforce immigration law by upholding his travel ban.
Chief Justice John Roberts, writing for the majority, made it clear that the court viewed the ability to regulate immigration as squarely within a president’s powers and he rejected critics’ claims of anti-Muslim bias. “We express no view on the soundness of the policy,” Roberts wrote.
Moreover, the court also ruled today that fascist California cannot force pro-life centers to advertise pro-abortion announcements.
“The unlicensed notice imposes a government-scripted, speaker-based disclosure requirement that is wholly disconnected from California’s informational interest,” wrote Justice Thomas. “California has offered no justification that the notice plausibly furthers. It targets speakers, not speech, and imposes an unduly burdensome disclosure requirement that will chill their protected speech.”
Thomas also wrote that the law not only forced pro-life centers to promote abortion, but to do so while diminishing their own message on pregnancy care. “As California conceded at oral argument, a billboard for an unlicensed facility that says ‘Choose Life’ would have to surround that two-word statement with a 29-word statement from the government, in as many as 13 different languages,” continued Thomas.
“In this way, the unlicensed notice drowns out the facility’s own message. More likely, the ‘detail required’ by the unlicensed notice ‘effectively rules out’ the possibility of having such a billboard in the first place.”
The left is on a bad losing streak at the Supreme Court so far this year. And with the strong possibility that at least one of its liberal judges might soon be replaced by Trump, the left’s ability to impose its will through the courts should be further diminished.
Readers!
My annual February birthday fund-raising drive for Behind the Black is now over. Thank you to everyone who donated or subscribed. While not a record-setter, the donations were more than sufficient and slightly above average.
As I have said many times before, I can’t express what it means to me to get such support, especially as no one is required to pay anything to read my work. Thank you all again!
For those readers who like my work here at Behind the Black and haven't contributed so far, please consider donating or subscribing. My analysis of space, politics, and culture, taken from the perspective of an historian, is almost always on the money and ahead of the game. For example, in 2020 I correctly predicted that the COVID panic was unnecessary, that the virus was apparently simply a variation of the flu, that masks were not simply pointless but if worn incorrectly were a health threat, that the lockdowns were a disaster and did nothing to stop the spread of COVID. Every one of those 2020 conclusions has turned out right.
Your help allows me to do this kind of intelligent analysis. I take no advertising or sponsors, so my reporting isn't influenced by donations by established space or drug companies. Instead, I rely entirely on donations and subscriptions from my readers, which gives me the freedom to write what I think, unencumbered by outside influences.
You can support me either by giving a one-time contribution or a regular subscription. There are four ways of doing so:
1. Zelle: This is the only internet method that charges no fees. All you have to do is use the Zelle link at your internet bank and give my name and email address (zimmerman at nasw dot org). What you donate is what I get.
2. Patreon: Go to my website there and pick one of five monthly subscription amounts, or by making a one-time donation.
3. A Paypal Donation or subscription:

It (travel ban) should have been 9-0. but I’ll take what I can get.
The extreme importance of electing Trump (once he was nominated), and thus the Gorsuch nomination are self evident from the recent Supreme court decisions.
The “never Trump” fanatics of both the left and right wing “conservative” spectra were and are extremely foolish in their pronouncements.
The trend is the trend, recognize it.

You might not like it, but it is what it is.
These two rulings today are just adding to it.
God, the Democrats are so screwed.

They may even be more screwed than I have previously have promoted, their death spiral seems now uncontrollable.
A little bit more, why not?

Keith Ellison, radical full blood Leftist, Muslim Brotherhood adherent, #2 man in the DNC. The Democrats must reject these operators and drag themselves back to the center Left or will not see power again for many decades.
Chuck Schumer is not up to the job though, none of them are, so its down the political drain they go. Trump is the worst contrasting politician at the very worst time for them. And timing is everything in life and politics.
This really emphasizes the one major defining difference between Republican and Democrat philosophies on law. One side has judges that make rulings based on the law and the other side makes rulings based on their political ideology, which in the case of Democrats isn’t based on respect for how laws are actually written.
I forget the guys name but this big time lefty law professor was writing in one of those journolist type listserves and said, “It would be best if we could get a judge that ruled based on progressive ideology but at least with Republicans we will get them that rule on the law.” (Paraphrasing)
With Democrats, the law is whatever SCOTUS says it is. With Republicans, the law is what is laid out in the constitution and the laws and regulations passed through legal means.
Abortion has been made a sacrament by the far-left. In “1984” Orwell imagined the Junior Anti-Sex League. If he were writing today he might have called it the Junior Anti-Fetus League.
Trump has a fan in India. This was how the Hindu Gods were invented one by one. In a thousand years Trump will only be known as a Hindu God worshiped in the walled in Trump Temple Tower.

Now I worship no man, lets keep everything in context, but this man does.
Trump is the strong horse.
The Democrats in NY, specifically Joe Crowley, 20 year, out of his mothers house dynastic Democrat Congressman was primaried by a totally unknown Bernie Sanders female Socialist. The Democrat party is in a process of necessary self destruction. Lets hope it continues for many years.
PS: The Left turns ever Left.
http://dailycaller.com/2018/06/26/ocasio-cortez-new-york-primary/
One day before the primary a bright smiling fresh faced 20 or so year old young lady proudly came to talk to me about the other totally unknown young lady that won the primary over a 20 year professional Democrat politician.
She said: Ms. Casio / Cortez (I despise hyphenated names, just choose one, must you feminize your husband or partner?) is a Bernie Sanders progressive, as she handed me some literature, I hope you will be voting tomorrow.
I smiled and thanked her and told her that I would review her literature. I did not have the heart to confront her with her delusion about being a “Progressive” I.E. Socialist (I also despise the designation “Progressive”. What it say to me is “I am a Marxist but I really do not understand what that is and this word “Progressive” makes me sound like a well developed and informed individual and I am making progress and moving into the future) . Its all working out so well in South America and many other places that have taken it to its maximum pain and slavery levels.
Keep turning Left Democrat party you are making the Rights work so much easier.
And it just keeps rollin.

This fight for the next Supreme will be as vicious as it gets. The lesson here? The Dems become irrelevant for the foreseeable future with trump having another court choice.
Also.
Don’t bet against Trump, he seems to manifest this stuff, and once again, timing is everything in life.
