Doug Johnson: There has been evidence now for about a century that a magnetic reversal might be in the offing. However, such things in the past took thousands of years to occur. So if it is beginning, it won’t be done in one or even five centuries from now.

The data in this post however does not seem related to a flip. It instead speaks to the internal weather of the core as the molten material moves about.
