A new study just released (published in Geophysical Research Letters) says that ice loss is even greater than models had predicted. One of the co-authors, Axel Schweiger, said this:

“Other people had argued that 75 to 80 percent ice volume loss was too aggressive. What this new paper shows is that our ice loss estimates may have been too conservative, and that the recent decline is possibly more rapid.”

Ice sheet size reduction is now supported even more dramatically by sea ice volume reduction. Arctic sea ice volume has declined by 36 per cent in the autumn and 9 per cent in the winter between 2003 and 2012,. Total sea ice is one-fifth of the volume in 1980. People “know” what it is they hear in the media and the media is about agenda, not about

science or the proper interpretation of facts.

What they hear in the media is their knowledge.

But I do agree that the Earth is in effect a living organism.

But it is good to see that at least a few of the ‘Greens’ can evolve and see that some of their assumptions were wrong.

It even better that at least some also believe that the real fanatics of the green movement could be verging on fascism with their intended outcome.

He at least seems like someone I could go and have a drink with and debate ideas.

1. Believes that the earth is a living being (Gaia theory).
2. Once said “before this century is over, billions of us will die and the few breeding pairs of people that survive will be in the Arctic where the climate remains tolerable.”
3. And now says, in order to temper his once extreme prediction, he still believes that man is causing the planet to warm but just not as sharply as he predicted it would.

This is the guy you all agree with? Just curious.
