I am sure you will remember what the Democrats have done at the next election and vote accordingly. But then, I suspect you probably wouldn’t have voted for a Democrat anyway. The key question remains: What will the low information voter who routinely has voted Democratic do? These are the people we need to get to change their minds.

By the way, please don’t use all caps, no matter how much it reflects your righteous anger and frustration. It doesn’t serve to convince anyone, and might even work against you.

Perhaps you could also explain why the House of Representatives (controlled by the Republicans) sent several bills to the Senate in order to avoid a government shutdown, yet the Senate (controlled by the Democrats) returned no counter bills, alternate ideas, or compromises. The Republicans were trying very hard to find a compromise that would avoid the shutdown, but the Democrats would not give them the necessary feedback for a compromise. Which party forced the shutdown, since it clearly wasn’t the Republicans.

The president also demanded a “clean” bill to sign — he would not sign a bill that was not clean. He didn’t get a clean bill, though, but he signed it anyway. The signed bill contained all kinds of additional spending that the president had not requested.

Sounds to me like “dirty is clean,” “knowledgeable is misinformed,” “correct is misguided,” and “reality is fantasy.”

And “Democrats is Republicans,” when it suits your narrative.

A better deal? A better deal for whom? Not for me! I liked my “crummy” deal very much, thank you. That is why I HAD that deal. That is why I wanted to KEEP that deal.

And while you are at it, please enlighten all of us on how “If you like your health plan, you can keep your health plan” is not Orwellian.

Please also show when, in all of the many previous government shutdowns, that the National Mall and many national park facilities were barricaded. What happened this time is a demonstration of this administration’s fascism.

Quite a judgmental individual you are. Instead of hurling insults, please show how exactly the Republicans shut down the government, when they did not pass a single measure that called for such a thing. Perhaps you are the one living in an unreal world.

Agree on all counts — and thank you, Robert, for hammering the point that it was Obama and the Democrats who forced the government shutdown. The lapdog media continues to make throwaway comments about the Republican shutting it down.
