Where are the “Republicans” in NC and Pennsylvania? They are the ones with standing to fight these illegal judicial takeovers of their Legislature’s rightful powers but seem to be absent. If Republicans brought suit to overturn Democrat redistricting they would be laughed out of the courts.

Take a break from the news. Spend time with friends even if it’s by email or text. Get out and do a favorite hobby.

Precisely right that ordinary people are being targeted. Milt is precisely correct in pointing out that the Republicans with darn few exceptions have ignored this. We are being pushed further and further into a corner.

Here is another attempt which the Republicans will likely ignore:

Through their organization All On The Line (AOTL) (formerly “Obama for America”), former President Barack Obama and his former Attorney General Eric Holder have aggressively targeted certain key states with strategic litigation wherever they believe Republicans hold an advantage in their electoral maps.

Barack Obama and Eric Holder, with the help of attorney Marc Elias, have been working to give the advantage to democrats despite the large shift in voter antipathy for the Democrats. While nationwide, the plan specifically targets Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas and Wisconsin.

Obama and Holder portray All On The Line as about “fairness” to mobilize their supporters, the group is guided by the National Democratic Redistricting Committee (NDRC) which was created to “favorably position Democrats for the redistricting process through 2022”

In North Carolina, a three-judge panel at a county superior court level rejected the map created under the authority of law by the Republican-controlled North Carolina state legislature, and instead approved a map that will likely lead to Democrats increasing their congressional seat count in the state from five to six.

In Pennsylvania, the Pennsylvania Supreme Court picked a new map that lays out the state’s updated congressional districts, the Court chose 4-3, the map submitted by the Carter petitioners, who are connected to the National Redistricting Action Fund.

And the only thing that will bring them relief as they are all slow walked through our justice system which conveniently is controlled by those same Democrats in power is a change in that power and administration.

At the time I wrote: “The rioters in the Capital have done great damage to the MAGA movement”. And I still say that and unfortunately this poor man could not take what he did not realize would come his way.

And it is clear that there were without argument government agent provocateurs operating within the crowd and stirring things up in order to ensure chaos, riot, illegal entry and arrests. And we know why that was.

And I am certain there were many other operators in operating within the crowd and within the Capital building.

Wrong place wrong time.

A fine piece about the persecution of Mr. Perna, but you have left out the role of the Republicans in essentially aiding and abetting such disgraceful behavior. Not only have “our” Republican legislators — with one or two honorable exceptions — done virtually nothing to support these demonstrators with legal aid or council*, they have not even had the courage to speak up for them in Congress or try to exercise some influence with the Justice Department. God, no. Crickets.

*As did a number of Democratic representatives for their party’s BLM / antifa shock troops, bailing out rioters, looters, and arsonists all across the country.

Sure, after this year’s midterm elections, Congress *may* convene another round of hearings about the Capitol demonstrations, but Mr. Perna is already dead (too bad), and nobody “important” is rotting in a District of Columbia jail.

What it comes down to, I believe, is that many Republicans were, and are, just as upset as the Democrats that mere American citizens dared to show up at their place of work (that is, the Capitol) and inconvenience them. Thus they are very happy to see them punished in this way for their impertinence. Who does this country “belong to,” anyway? Certainly not the rabble who showed up on January 6th.

Finally, Mr. Perna is exactly the kind of person — “Matt did not have a hateful bone in his body. He embraced people of all races, income brackets, and beliefs, never once berating anyone for having different views.” — who poses the greatest danger to the ideology and the agenda of the radical left. He was by all accounts a decent human being, and this is now the greatest crime of all in this country. Unless you are as twisted and hateful as they are, they can’t allow you to exist.
