Concerned asked: "<em>Excellent! New novel pharmaceuticals! Think of the possibilities and opportunities for helping people..
What could go wrong?</em>"

One thing that went wrong in the past: forty years ago NASA stopped this kind of space manufacturing, so we have to wonder how many lives could have been saved over that period of time (and the next forty years) had this been allowed to be pursued. Would the commercialization of space happened sooner if space manufacturing had become an industry in the late 1980s?

I was initially very skeptical about this, but after having wasted a lot of time going down rabbit-holes, I'm all-in!
No clue if Varda is the One, but it's an extremely promising methodology & technology.

"Crystal Polymorphism," wherein a compound or element can crystalize into more than one crystal structure.
